This was so obviously bullshit at worst at completely overblown at best.
Pastrnak has been in the league for 8 years now and has never once even gave the slightest of hints he's this type of player. He's been a bit of an enigma this season. He's been great (41 P in 43 GP) given the rest of the team is a burning dumpster fire around him, but at the same time his effort level at times has been ah, lacking, to say the least.
Marchand comes from a different world; Worked his ass off to get to the show and has stayed working his ass off his entire career, doubly so this one given he's in his late 30s coming off hip surgery. Do i believe that maybe, as captain, Marchand got annoyed with Pasta's lack of effort and it turned into a bit of a confrontation in the locker room? Sure. Team is playing awfully right now so tensions are going to be higher than normal as everyone tries to find an answer. It wouldn't be the first locker room to see this happen, and it will absolutely not be the last.
I'm of the mindset of if that's what happened...that's a good thing. It means our guys at least give a shit if it's getting to them and leading to them to start demanding better of each other.
But Pasta being that much of a bitch to demand not playing with a guy because he hurt his feelings? Absolutely god damn not and these goons should feel bad for being so shit at reporting
