I posted these before and I stand by them today.

1A-Ericksson Krejci Connolly
This line is very sound defensively. Connolly adds a hard net drive, a +shot and hard fore-check presence and a certain physicality. DK and Ericksson have the smarts and have shown chemistry in the past. DK has his quickest linemates he has had with the Bruins and that will allow him to get the blue line and give him space as defenders back off to respect the speed on the wings.

1B- Machand Bergeron Hayes
Marchand and Bergeron tend to cycle well and Hayes is a + player along the boards. Hayes has a ++net drive and nose for rebounds. I think this could be a top possession line in the league. Defensively, they will be among the strongest in the league also just because, well, Bergie.

3- Belesky Spooner Pastrnak
This line will be the burners. No starts in the defensive end except for on icings, but lots of OZone starts. Pure Speed, Pure fore-check, pure energy. We will love the excitement they bring and hate them for some defensive gaffs, but thisw is out future second and maybe first line..all bring sped and dynamic skating.

4- Talbot Kelly Kemp/Rinaldo
if Kemp earns a spot, he is known for being a tancious, smart defender and + faceoff man. Kelly has slidden in FO% the past few years, maybe becasue he's been playing a lot of wing, but it give you a good FO option in Kemp possibly. If its Rinaldo you have 3 veterans, all who are known for playing very hard. Kelly is still a 3rd line center on many teams in the NHL, like him or not.

Defense is a mess, but IO expect Seids will be much better this year, more mobile and back closer to what he was before his Knee injury.

1-Chara C Miller/Trotman
I have a sneaky suspicion C Miller is going to surprise. He is here because Chara tends to be the one to break in the noobs, and becasue C Miller is a ++ skater and can help when Chara gets turned. If he doesn't impress, Trots is there for the same reason.

2-Seids Krug
I don;'t like Krug here, but what choice is there? Forces Seids to play off hand, but I think he prefers that. This will be Krugs chance to step up, but I worry that he is what he is, and undersized 6 and a PP specialist.

3 McQuaid KMiller/Trotman/CMiller/Irwin
Whoever isn't on the top pairing will compete with KMiller for the 6 spot. crazy to say that. I Love KMiller. strong skater and positive player no matter where he is paired. in a 6 role I think he can be very effective. i think Irwin will be spending a lot of time upstairs....

G- Rask Smith/Subban/Zane
Rask will get overplayed, and this will bite us in the ass come stretch time.

If Sweeney can find a way to get Franson, I think it improves the D, but I don't want Oduya.. I this is going to be a playoff team, it will require a Vezina season from Rask, and some id of miraculous elevation of a Dman or two, or a major acquisition. They need a #2 guy.

I like the forward group. I don't like the D group, and I am unsure of the backup.

Its going to be an interesting year!

Don't disagree with this. I think that's the way season will start. However also feel very quickly it will be determined that that 4th line is not the answer. Look for Randell, Phillips and Griffith to become part of equation rather early in year, imo.

Can't believe people are putting Hayes on 4th, splitting up Brad n Patrice etc

if forward group isn't changing
Marchand - Bergeron - Connolly
Beleskey - Krejci - Hayes
Eriksson - Spooner - Pastrnak
Rinaldo - Kelly - Talbot

Kemppainen, Ferlin - bench or "on call"

defense i'm not as sure about
Chara - C Miller
Seids - Mcquaid
Krug - K Miller
Irwin
and send Trotman down

That looks the best so far. You can switch Beleskey and Eriksson depending on the day. It Seems Ideal to keep Spooner and Pastrnak together for now too, I also hope that Ferlin finds some way to crack the lineup.

Why are you guys leaving Zac Rinaldo out of all the lineups. Traded a 3rd rounder for him, no way he would be benched.

If he goes out and hurts the team with either foolish penalties or an inability to contribute then he`ll see little to no ice time. We often judge future success based on past performances and in his career, he has yet to show he can contain himself while playing a hard, yet disciplined game and truth be told, having not watched him or focused on him big time, he needs to improve his puck skills so he can, at the very least take and give a pass

Yes for sure. I feel that at least to start, keep the kids together, with a solid defensive guy who can score like Loui. Beleskey and Connolly could be a poor mans Lucic and Iginla for Krejci, Beleskey plays the PWF game and Connolly can rip it like Iggy and likes to shoot first. Hayes seems like a good compliment to 63 and 37 due to his size. I can see him going to the net while Bergy and Marchand cycle.

Only way we'll be able to score is by loading up talent on the 1st line.

Eriksson-Krejci-Pastrnak
Marchand-Bergeron-Hayes
Beleskey-Spooner-Connolly
Talbot-Kelly-Kemppainen

??-??
Chara-Seidenberg
McQuaid-Krug

Rask
??

Not sure what they'll do without a 1st pairing or backup goalie and with all the 7th/8th defensemen.

eriksson kempainen(if he can play at all) hayes
rinaldo kelly connoly

chara seidenberg

irwin mcquaid

this lineup doesn't fit together well and claude won't ice it, but i don't want everyone playing 12 minutes a night anyways. play the top6 forwards and top4 d all game.

I think this is the best option.

Beleskey and Connolly both are shoot first type players, Krejci needs those guys.

Hayes is a nice big body for Berg and Marchand and can put home rebounds.

Spooner and Pasta have awesome chemistry and can fly together. Eriksson is great defensively, this will allow Clode to not have to shelter the line too much.

wow, funny how all over the map we all are....

I have it like this.

Marchand-Bergeron-Connolly

BC has a little crash and grit to his game that I think would compliment the experienced pairing of Marchand & Bergeron. It also gives him a great chance to break out this year

Eriksson-Krejci-Hayes

I think Eriksson might be our best goal scorer, outside of Marchand, and another year removed from concussion syndrome, he might look even better. Both Krejci & Loui strike me as more perimeter guys, and I think Hayes will go to the net looking for screens, tips and garbage goals.

Beleskey-Spooner-Pasta

I thought Pasta & Spooner were exceptional together last year; no way I'd break that up; and I think Beleskey can fill the Lucic spot on that line as the 'mucker'.

Fourth line; I'm still hoping Kelly is moved and it's some combination of Rinaldo, Ferlin, Talbot, and Kemp.

Talbot Kelly Ferlin

Rinaldo

Chara Trotmen
Morrow(Franson) Seids
Krug Mcquaid

Irwin/Miller

Rask
Smith

1st Line: Time to see what loui and dk can do together, I'm predicting a big season for loui especially if he finally plays with krejci. Connolly gives them a big RW and if he can put it together i wouldn't be surprised if he scored 25

2nd Line: cant seperate marchy and bergy, hayes gives them a big body who can dig the puck out protect the puck and cycle

3rd Line: hard to seperate spooner and pasta, beleskey replaces lucic

If they have both Millers on the third pairing, can we call it the "Miller time" line? I know the defense made me want to drink last year....

Marchand-Bergeron-Connoly: I could see this becoming a true first line that dominates the pace of the game and can put a lot of pucks in the net, Connoly being the critical piece, could end up the best scorer on the team or a 3rd line grinder.

Eriksson-Spooner-Pasta: Spooner and Pasta were our most potent combination last year, with our best defensive winger watching over them I could see this being a very strong second line.

Beleksey-Krejci-Hayes: I don't like making this line but this could end up our second line, Krejci lost both of his wingers last year give him a chance to develop chemistry with the new wingers and mess with things if it doesn't work.

I'm not going to guess at the 4th line and I hope we have a decent addition to the D by the time we hit the start of the season.

Rask/Smith and I have confidence in Smith as a backup, but it won't matter if we go into the season with a D worse than last year's miserable group.

Rinaldo - Kelly - Some other 4th liner.

Is there much of a question as to how this line is to be constructed?
Or is there the thought that Kelly won't be on the team for the start of the season?

I'd say we are probably going to see
Kelly-Kemppainen-Rinaldo/Talbot
4th line, which like that would be a much better 4th line that we had last year.

Its more I'd like to believe Rinaldo will end up a 13th forward, but I do also enjoy entertaining the leave of Kelly. I like a lot of the kids and the center we signed from Europe, I'd like to imagine at most one of Talbot, Rinaldo, and Kelly would be on the line. I don't expect that and would rather just ignore the line until training camp.

Trotman has a one way contract. He's on the team people. Get it? Good.
i think he's the 7th dman, but they signed caron to a 1 way last year and put him in providence for 23 games. it made absolutely no sense on any level but it's possible...
