Hrudey looks and acts like Otis from Andy Griffith show

Can we get some tweets out to give this crowd some credit.

I'd love for the local sports news to make this type of reaction a benchmark for future games.. we play better and finish checks more when the crowds into it.

This is what prepares you for playoff hockey IMO.
I think it's the other way around..The T.O. crowd is basically quiet...Heavy hits is one of the few things that get them going...If only the guys would realize that and hit a little more we'd have a better atmosphere in the building on a regular basis.

a couple give aways... but overall I thought leafs looked way better. They looked fast.
If they keep playing like this...they should win.
Boston doesn't look like Boston from a couple years ago so far.

63.6 Awarded Goal – In the event that the goal post is displaced, either deliberately or accidentally, by a defending player, prior to the puck crossing the goal line between the normal position of the goalposts, the Referee may award a goal.

In order to award a goal in this situation, the goal post must have been displaced by the actions of a defending player, the puck must have been shot (or the player must be in the act of shooting) at the goal prior to the goal post being displaced, and it must be determined that the puck would have entered the net between the normal position of the goal posts.

When the goal post has been displaced deliberately by the defending team when their goalkeeper has been removed for an extra attacker thereby preventing an impending goal by the attacking team, the Referee shall award a goal to the attacking team.

The goal frame is considered to be displaced if either or both goal pegs are no longer in their respective holes in the ice, or the net has come completely off one or both pegs, prior to or as the puck enters the goal.

Thanks! I figured it was something like that if they called it a good goal, but now I know the rule.

Mathews be taking over games

Not to sure about him.

He shouldn't need other player to spark his fire.

Bunting has some forechecking and disruption ability but I don't see very many good connections with his linemates thus far, as far as play-making.

It adds pressure on Matthews and Nylander to muck it up which I don't see an eagerness to do...

That can happen when you miss all of training camp.
I have seen quite a few players come back from injury and make an impact. There are no need for excuses he is matched up with Trent f***ing Frederic tonight. This should be the kind of night that gets him back in the groove. That period wasn't it.

I don't want to keep bashing Holl, and management evaluation of its players on the roster, but holy god.

The blueline has not looked this good in years.

Just talking about talent to play the damn position.
