Agreed, Tampa won that period IMO but I thought the Leafs were at least in it, weren't really on their heels.
Tampa is a good team, that game was a great measuring stick.
Consistency has always been the struggle though. I'd like to think that's a thing of the past now. I believe the Carolina game really opened their eyes.

Tampa Bay without Kucherov one of the best players in the league against our Leafs was a pretty equal battle most of the night and while Leafs still gave away some dangerous odd man rushes against they managed to pull off a nice win in the end which will go a long way confidence wise.

Boston has been our Leafs nemesis for a long time now including playoffs and our Leafs struggle with Boston's perfection line.

Really looking forward to see how our Leafs do tonight riding this winning streak and confidence boost against Boston in a Div rival game. If we play similar to the TB game it should be a great game.

This that fun dirt right here sire. Yeaaah boy!!! A real test for our rear ends tonighto. I mean the man.. the man scored 4 gezoals last game. Bergy and them will be testing our boys for real tonight. They want to win again. So do WE. We might have a bag to get on this one. Bag of some treal points. We deserve it if we want it, hard. Our suckas be flying tonight yo, lets see to it. We MIGHT SCORE-A-LOT too. Lets see. Tavares and Matthews vs Bergeron.............. the real war has just began sire.

I read today last time we played Bruins was 2019, just before covid shutdown.

Crazy to think we havent seen these guys in 2 years. Should be a good renewed battle.

Is there something in the water in Toronto where goaltenders can't have healthy groins?

Well mrazek is out…. Again. He hasn’t lasted even 2 games and he’s injured twice. Not impressed with signing him

On the plus side, this means we get to watch Jack some more

You know it's a big game when your 17 year old daughter asks if we can TIVO and watch when she gets home from work at 7:30.
To quote, 'my favourite team vs my least favourite team, don't want to miss this one'.

That is one well-raised young lady, sir!

This is the 1st game of the season that my 17 year old and 12 year old son's are really interested in. The Tampa game has helped pull them back into it......

Win to keep the trolls off this board.
hopefully the big dogs come to play

I still don't understand why they don't get banned for showing up here lol, every other board is an immediate infraction.

Anyways huge game tonight, sadly I'll miss it due to family stuff but hoping the boys keep the momentum rolling !

Yeah sire, just thought about posting bout this thang here. Mrazek (the groin) won't dress at all again. He aint' 100 naah no way sisire. He never will be it seems. A real risky signing. Campbell betta be ready this season (he playing aaaaight too), gotta love him and mrazek. But mrazek finna be out like-a-lot. Again. He ain't never played a full season, not even close. We gittin WOLL here tonight. Backin up that thang.

What are the odds we see a Ritchie fight? Or at least some energy from him for once
He finna thug that thang up tonight sisire. Finna drop em. Down the ice. Might even win the parner he be fighting with. Ritchie.... damn that sucka such a heavy weight. Mayne that dude is big, like notorious was back in his prime. Died 1997, that's a long time ago. Ritchie still here sire. Still here. Me and you still here too. Experienced maofaos. We TOUGH AND HARD.

If there was anyone on the Bruins that Ritchie didn't like, we will find out tonight........ With no Chara to hide behind, I don't see Marchand yapping too much. He always hurts us more on the scoreboard, anyways.....

No Foligno tonight for the Bruins? Is he injured? Man that was such a putrid waste of a 1st round pick for us........

Technically the same injury, much like Campbell last year when he came back for a game and then went out again.

That’s the unfortunate reality with goalie groin injuries.

Maple Leafs recall goaltender Joseph Woll from AHL Marlies - Sportsnet.ca

The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled goaltender Joseph Woll from the AHL's Toronto Marlies.

In three games with the Marlies, Woll has a 2-1 record with a 3.38 GAA and an .895 save percentage. The 23-year-old last played against the Belleville Senators on Oct. 30 making 22 saves in a 5-2 win.

Petr Mrazek has been working his way back from a groin injury and was not 100 per cent when he was the backup for Jack Campbell against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Head coach Sheldon Keefe did not name a starter against the Boston Bruins.

The Leafs take on the Bruins Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on Sportsnet.

If whatever is wrong with Mrazek is a day to day thing, fine. But if it is more week to week, just put him on LTIR and let it heal. Then he can come back truly healthy and play as much as needed later into the season. Plus for the short term you have some cap relief for the team in general and maybe if you want to find a replacement for Hutch since someone will need to play some backup games. Campbell is going to need rest. The yo-yoing of Mrazek's injury won't give him rest.

True, then I guess he should sit until he’s fine completely. I hope the recovery time is quick. I don’t want to do the same thing to Jack as we did to Fred. Play him 60+ games over and over again and run him into injuries. Jack should play 50 games, give or take. I want him rested and ready for the end stretch of the season and the playoffs.

Yes. Soup might need to carry us for a stretch until we get into a spot where we just need to continue a decent pace to win home ice. After that, Mrazek needs to be worth his money and carry a lot of starts mid season and let Jack be healthy and rested down the stretch.
