Wow! What a terrible season start for the Bruins
This is denial copium. Denial that they are a bang average team at best now , and shouldn't expect more than average results .

They really seemed to think that Lindholm/Zadorov was going to just lift them out of it.

Seems like an over reactionary fire given they’re only 1/4 of the way through their season and are still in the playoff mix.

Also their goalie missed training camp, so his slow start isn’t exactly shocking either.

I think this is a mistake for the B’s

I guess two great regular seasons don’t outweigh a .500 start. Those two prior seasons support he’s a good coach under a boss had a bad offseason.
You could definitely feel the tension around the Bruins. He was constantly calling his top people out. When Elliotte Friedman uses the phrase ‘they’re waiting for something to happen,” it’s a tell-tale sign the coach is about to be fired.

Firing Montgomery doesnt change the fact their roster is super mid and guys like McAvoy and Carlo have regressed badly

Elias Lindholm also looks completely washed
Lindholm used the excuse of moving to a new city when he was invisible when he came to Van for the first few games. He can turn it on in the playoffs

Gotta wonder if behind the scenes drama led to this happening sooner than later. He's called out Pasta, Marchy and I read somewhere that he called out Swayman recently as well? It takes balls to call out your top players, even if they may deserve it, but it does make me wonder if he had lost the room. Or at least his message wasn't resonating anymore.

If he wants one. Anyone think he might take the rest of the year off to reset and spend some time with family? Seems like things might have been a bit stressful behind the scenes with Boston lately.
I would think he does this unless he is presented something that just cannot be turned down

Liked Don Sweeney as a bruin defensemen, but what has he actually done to deserve staying GM for as long as he has?
He should have been fired after drafting zboril, debrusk and senyshyn instead of Barzal, Connor and Chabot.

Thats not hindsight, its One of the few times EVERYONE at the time went "Wtf" because absolutely nobody agreed with those picks.

Can't imagine they expected to be an awesome team, so maybe the callouts are a sign that he's just lost the room.

The guy spent more time screaming this year, than coaching...............once you lose the vets, you lose the room.
It seemed like it was too early, but the players had already checked out......

Garth Snow stood up and immediately laughed because he was next and he thought none of those guys would be available. Everyone, even analysts sounded so perplexed lol

what was his winning percentage in the RS? It has to be one of the highest to be fired on

I get the firing though, something has to give and it's easier to fire a coach vs trade a core piece. Especially when three supposed core pieces (E. Lindholm, Swayman, and Zadorov) just signed

Oh man, the Bruins are really gonna struggle to start the games on time now.
