Sat was talking about potentially going like 3-1-1 on this road trip before it started as there were “winnable” games.

f*** off. The team is shite and there is no end in sight.

The media needs to grow a pair and start to rip into this team from top to bottom

At best a 2-3 road trip was the best possible outcome. A realistic road trip is 1-4. One of the games against the Habs or Sens is winnable.

You do know the Aquilinis have pulled funding for anyone who have openly ripped the team right? and that im sure other sponsors that keep them alive will as well
So? Like I said, grow a pair.

Not like Toronto gives a f*** about 650 anyway.

Media needs to f***ing get on it.

Hiding under WTG's bed...
Some very good individual efforts and maybe the Canucks were the best team overall. However, Boston was there to be had and isn't an especially good team right now and still the Canucks found a way to lose.

Good

Garland - seemed like he was out near every shift and on his effort should have been. Far and away our best forward. Funny two shortest players, Garland and Marchand, controlled a lot of this game

Motte - Canucks PK was excellent as long as he was out. Once he was off the thing fell drastically apart. Dynamo every where on the ice breaking up plays. Took a real pounding in this game and, of course, zero response from the team.

Hughes - did a good job of moving puck up from the back and had the PP working a little better. Get so use to him just getting the puck out of his zone smoothly that you take it for granted.

Bad

Dickinson - Garrett trying to build him up by saying he made a good play on the Garland goal. Fact was he was getting stripped of the puck but defenseman pushed it too far up the ice. He was horrible on the PK and you knew as soon as he was put out the team was in trouble. Too slow on the winning goal getting to the open man in front of the net. Terrible player, who in any ordinary situation (one where Benning get even more embarrassed) would be benched. Lammikko, as bad as he is, is better than Dickinson.

Burroughs - time to send him down and maybe try Woo. Is not an NHL player

Boeser - skating is God awful. Always staggering and reaching for the puck. Takes all he is got just to stay partially in the play.

Pettersson - it's all be said. Looks totally lost. Sometimes he looks like he is about to do something but then he stops in the middle of the play and does something dumb or useless. Bad forwards always end up getting driven into the corner by defensemen and that is where Pettersson ends up most of the time.

Others

Horvat - little better - ran out of gas in the third but more involved and better defensively. Provided some much needed toughness and this is a role he is going to have to take. He may want to play a finesse game where he leaves the rough stuff to others. But right now the Canucks don't have the 'others' (see Benning) and with him providing nothing much else he is going to have to provide that.

Myers - really hanging back. Given a completely defensive role. Trouble is that Myers isn't that good defensively and is best when he a can range around up and down ice. Poor planning has seen a lot of Canuck players cast in the wrong roles (see Benning)

Chaisson - getting more minutes and a bigger role on the team. All you need to know to understand how bad others have been and how pitiful the team is.

Evident now that all we can hope for is for more losses to facilitate a serious tank job, that somehow Benning isn't around to screw that up in trades or at the draft table and that old man Aqualini wakes up long enough to find Fredo a new toy to play with..
Screw that. Let him develop nicely in Abby. Don't want him anywhere near this ****show right now.

This is the result of management team who simply looks at Ws or other very broad strokes like PP and PK. A management team who can’t be bothered to look at or understand underlying numbers. Remember those are just vitamins…

Yup it's bad

What should be done?

I mean one can try different players on the PK just for the hell of it. Perhaps they could have done better than 33% tonight.

Maybe jettison Chiasson from the lineup. Maybe realize Dickinson at his best is going to do nothing.

Or maybe…keep some lines together for more than 2 shifts.

and higher up…maybe find a president and clean house.

So you want all our media coverage to be gone forever, the last handful of media people to lose their jobs, just for your opinion to be blasted on the radio for about a week before they all get shutdown? thats good to know

"We've played some good hockey here and haven't got the results that we want"

As much as they have had stretches its mostly been periods but if they had gotten any success with a pk and pp it would likely have been some respectable results and just maybe given them a little confidence and as of now that is one thing lacking .
Management has to see its a huge issue and for whatever reason coaching cant get it figured out i was posting 3 weeks ago get a new voice even great coaches lose the attention of teams move on now isnt an option its the only chance to salvage any respect this season .

The team needs media. They can’t pull funding on everything without substantial harm to their own business. No media leads to fan disinterest which leads to lower ratings which leads to lower broadcast fees etc…

What they did was an extremely short sighted move during a temper tantrum. It also didn’t reduce any of the negative coverage they are getting.

No media coverage is better than propaganda. I wish you understood this

The last few years under Green seeing them get out shot more than 50% of the games in a season, coming out flat to start games being out shot 10-1 sometimes, going stretches throughout a game without a shot for long periods, relying on the goaltending to keep you in games, yeah pk and pp struggled but it's always been more imo, but 100% agree a new voice was needed long ago.

I agree but truth is a good pk and pp make a team confident it can score or get some momentum which helps flow ,they get lots of pp opportunities that is working and using skills if they cashed in some had an avg pk this mess is only half as bad at worst.

I realize the season is toast but changes need to be made NOW if for no other reason than to build for next season. If we could finish the year on a positive note it will go a long way towards a decent start next year. I don’t think they can afford to let this go on much longer.
