If you speak with the person that sits behind you ask her to see if she can compare her playoff tickets cost to an account that has not been flagged. I think that flagged accounts are also being given a higher playoff price than an account that has not been flagged.

I asked her and she said she's getting charged more for this year's playoffs compared to last year so you are correct.

Yes what they are doing really stinks. I might have my information wrong but as an FYI for season ticket holders I was told by someone that the Bruins have 6 people that are dedicated to watch for STH that are selling their tickets. Also heard that selling as few as 10 games on the Exchange will get you flagged. So it is time to talk to reps to see what the criteria is that they are using. If I can't sell around 15 games even at face value then I will not be able to keep my tickets long term. And then if selling the worthless preseason games counts against the total number of games that you can sell without getting flagged then it becomes even worse.

Unbelievable that selling 25% will get you flagged as a reseller. Seriously, not everyone can get into Boston for every game and the team hasn't been good enough to warrant paying big bucks for midweek games against mediocre opponents even if you wanted to sell. And up until the coaching change, they were barely winning any games at TD.

My information is second hand so I can't say that it is accurate. But the crackdown is real. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If the B's DNQ again then what happens?

They should have warned STH that they were going to do this.

My seats stayed the same. I used the exchange a couple of years ago when my sister (my seatmate) was on vacation and missed 4 games. I sold her seat for 3 games (and made a profit) and sold both seats for one game.

It isn't fair to do this without letting STH know beforehand.

Denver Broncos have done the same thing. They did a ticket audit and revoked about 1,000 season tickets without warning for accounts that they determined sold too many games. I have also read that the Cubs revoked season tickets and the Indians have included a clause in their season ticket contract that selling too many games will lead to having season tickets revoked.

So it looks like all sports teams are starting to try and take control back from the secondary market. Bad for the STH that wants to have ST but can't go to every game. But I also think it will be bad for the people that only want to go to a handful of games and less tickets may be available from a STH and will now need to pay inflated single game box office prices or buy from brokers that still have agreements with teams to purchase season tickets.

Tonight is arguably one of the biggest games of the season and I am seeing tickets posted for under ST face. And the B's had the temerity to raise prices by 20% on some STH that have been flagged for selling tickets for games that they did not want to go to.

I am waiting until after tonight's game to decide what I am going to do about renewing. I wish the deadline was on Friday so that I couls wait even longer until after Thursday's Tampa game.

What's really crazy are the day of game stubhub markups now. A $43 ticket is $55 and change after fees. A 28% markup? Yikes.

This is renewal deadline day so bringing this thread to the top.

Did you renew your ST. Still on the fence?

I love hockey so I renewed hoping that they will hang on to a playoff spot and hope that some help comes up to the team next season.

I renewed. Like you, I am hoping for better things. Had they raised my price for next season I might not have but they didn't so I re-upped.

I think that a price increase is inevitable when they become a team that can be counted on to make the playoffs. When the price increase becomes unsustainable to keep the tickets then I will sadly give them up at some point.

We renewed, but I have a bad taste in my mouth that has nothing to do with the product on the ice. That's cyclical. They've sucked before, they've been good before, and they have been mediocre before. All will come around again.

I'm more concerned about the shady **** that the ticket office is doing in regards to how they are identifying resellers via ticket exchange. It feels extremely manipulative and sneaky to me to encourage people to use a service, and then penalize them for doing so. I don't use ticket exchange, we sell the majority of games we can't make to friends and family, but I really, really, REALLY don't like how they and handling this on principle. If true, I also don't like the idea that there is some formula or magic number that indicates what an "acceptable" sell rate is. To require people to be able to get to between 20 and 40+ games over the course of the year, or be penalized, is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm with you on this one. I used the Ticket Exchange for the first time this season but I won't be going forward. The front office needs to announce guidelines as to what causes one to be classified as a "reseller". Is it a set number of games? Is it people selling for profit vs people selling as face value because they can't go? We all know that they will never give out this information, so my only defense is to stop using the TE for selling.

I agree, I have never used TicketExchange, and I won't going forward. My concern is if it bleeds into other resale sites. While we make every effort to sell to people we know, sometimes we can't unload a game, or something comes up last minute so we'll use another site.

You have people out there with 2 seats, or 4 seats, intended mostly for personal use and you're really going after them? That's just completely asinine to me. Personal use to one person might mean every game, and personal use to another might mean a few games a month due to whatever their circumstances are. To expect your STH base to make the time commitment of a full season and then penalize them is just wrong, IMO.

It's completely ridiculous. The woman who sits behind me has 4 seats and a couple of seasons ago she tried to drop 2 of them and keep the other 2. She was told that in order for her to keep 2 seats, she had to let go of all 4 of her current seats and pick 2 elsewhere. She declined to do that and kept them and has sold her unwanted games on the TE. Now her seats are going up $7 next season, which is more than a 10% increase.

I have the distinct feeling that other ticket resale sites are probably next. It sucks because the average joe STH who just wants to get his money back is going to have a much harder time now if they're not selling games privately.

I have 19 seats. I dropped 11 of them. This isn't a playoff team. I don't even feel good about the 8 seats I'm keeping.
