Hello everyone. I thought I would give you a quick update. Monday was the day from hell.
On that morning my heart started to Race almost rendering me unconscious until the ICD device they installed in my chest would bring it back under control. Unfortunately this would not stop and I had to get an ambulance to take me back to emergency at Toronto general. It kept happening all morning until they were finally able to stabilize my heart but unfortunately I had to spend the night in emergency before being transferred to the Cardiac ward on Tuesday. I got a couple of parting gifts from them. Number one they didn't really have the iv in properly and I wound up getting a blood clot in my arm. Number two, I caught something while i was there and had a fever Tuesday and Wednesday night.
Now for the good news. I am hoping to be sent home tomorrow as they have adjusted my medications and are hopeful that the heart will remain stable. My Fever has broken So whatever it was, was short lived, And they are treating the blood clot in my arm and it appears to be improving.
Thanks again to everyone who has given me words of support. They mean so much in times like these. I will continue to fight through this like only a Boston Bruins could. Looking forward to seeing them raise the cup again this season.

It took a while for you to post after surgery so I was really glad when you eventually did. The most dangerous period of time is obviously the day of and a few days after surgery. As each day goes by your system will fall back into its rhythm, of course, with just a little bit of help from all of those incredibly intelligent, talented medical professionals.

Thanks for keeping us up to date. Try to be patient, it's a big surgery and complications like what you are experiencing with the arrythmias can be discouraging. At least you have the internal defibrillator, and it seems to be doing what it should. Hopefully they'll be able to ablate that tricky area soon.
