The one thing I've notice about Cassidy is his demeanor, his body language behind the Bench. Its not very good he appears nervous edgy not as composed as I'd like a coach to be,especially in the NHL playoffs.
its a negative vibe he's sending to his players.

Also the line changes , they need to get a whole lot better! To many bad changes on odd man rushes.

I'm the biggest Cassidy basher here and he's done a great job in the playoffs

Typical HF posters over reaction on this guy

I watch him like a hawk and as a long time coach myself evaluate his decisions and he's been A+

Earth to HF- check out the Bruins defense and he should get an award

He's basically putting out a defensive corps that's being cobbled together with AHL stiffs and bubble gum, and they've managed to stay in every game, including 2 OT's where a random bounce or two and this series could look vastly different. But yeah, he's the issue.

??? I don`t get to see even a quarter of what fans at the game get to see but I haven`t seen any indication he looks remotely nervous or edgy.

I see a coach who`s trying to win a playoff series with half his starting D out, a top 6 C clearly not 100%

As disappointed and frustrated as I am, when I step back and look at the big picture, the fact this team has played in 4 straight one goal games, with two overtimes, with this lineup is a miracle.

Win or lose, I would rather not play the Sens ever again, regular season or otherwise, never have I seen a team make the fastest game in the world look so dull

the one thing Cassidy should have done yesterday was bring up Cehlarik

He has been playing rotating chair with that 2nd line LW for the past 2 games now

I rather have Cehlarik vs Schaller as a 2nd line LW.... even if cehlarik doesn't score a point...at least you know you will get some more ice time in the Sens end

Come on. Cehlarik isn't an NHL caliber player at this point. Yet he's going to be the difference in a playoff game? Ugh. Such a misguided view, IMO.

You know why they're losing? Their top players aren't producing and they have AHL scrubs and rookies playing on the back end due to injury. Bringing up Cehlarik isn't going to change that.

agreed and I highly doubt Cassidy has the pull to tell Sweeney who he needs to call up.

I liked some elements of Cehlarik`s game but there`s still work to be done there and as you mentioned, he wouldn`t make much of a difference in this series

Cehlarik may turn into a decent NHL option, but people seem to forget how uneven his play was while he was up.

Well Doc I'd have to disagree.
Body language is an important part of communication which can constitute up to 50% or more of what is being communicated.

I guess I'll ask the obvious question then. What makes you an expert on reading body language through a television screen? Surely you must have some advanced degree or certification in this field if you're so adamant you know what's going on from a few hundred miles away while you're sitting on your couch?

Maybe I'm reading into to much as you stated he's trying to win a playoff series against relatively unfavorable odds do to his injured defensive core.

Just my point of view! No expert by no means.

agreed, as I mentioned, liked some aspects to his game but if I could see elements he needs to improve upon from my couch, I am guessing the coaches saw it too and that`s perfectly fine, first season in NA, looks like he`s working hard at his game.

OT a bit, I`m officially done with Spooner. I`m tough on DK but I also recognize he`s clearly not close to being 100% but at the very least I hear his name and actually see him out there, Spooner? Honestly, if at one point the camera didn`t pan to the bench last night, would never have known he was dressed

Vatrano reportedly left the TD last night in a boot, another one I`m done with, problem now is it means we`ll likely see Beleskey in game 5

I throw all caution to the wind and dress JFK who, like Cehlarik isn`t the finished product but..

If we still had Clode at the helm, we'd probably have already won this series, but would lose all the rest.

With Cassidy at the helm, we can't win this series, but if we had, may have won some of the rest.

Yeah, I'm pretty done with Vatrano. Haven't liked his effort for most of the season. Just wasn't up to par for a young guy trying to earn playing time in this league. Spooner shows glimpses of talent but doesn't do it consistently enough. I could easily see them moving him in the off season and putting Backes back at center next year. That would give them Bergeron, DK, and Backes at the dot on the top 9, which isn't a bad thing, IMO.

Even if Beleskey is back in for FV, does that matter? Isn't it like replacing a glass of water with another glass of water? :naughty:

Agreed with your take on Cehlarik. Showed some flashes and is adjusting. Just not ready yet.

If Claude was still there we'd be talking about missing the playoffs for the third straight year. :naughty:

agreed on all fronts, next year I suspect they`ll introduce JFK full time with the option of shifting Backes into the dot if the kid struggles

Spooner is literally making off season decisions easy for this GM, problem is, his play is so inconsistent and irrelevant, he isn`t exactly selling himself with his game.

If Clode was still here we would be golfing already!
He is coaching a first place team and without Carey Price they too would be golfing!

not sure I stated he was guaranteed a spot, I said I "suspect" they`ll introduce him.

I`ve never been one to guarantee anything to a kid but I think he`ll show well come camp time.

Cassidy needs to die with Stafford on Krejci's wing, the revolving door of 4th liners next to Krejci does no one any good. A lack of talent has come home to roost.
