just think way too much credit is being given when the team was almost up 2-0 in the series then losing in 6 to Craig Anderson. He deserves a shot yes, doesn't mean he's the best coach for the Bruins. He had no answer for Karlsson the whole series.

You are starting to sound like Felger..

Making the playoffs was huge...everything else was gravy

If Bruins could not make it in, then yeah explore all options... But ending at 18-8 (2nd most wins in that stretch)... It took everything for this team to sneak their way in

You think Sutter or Blysma could have done that?

My point is, focus on the small picture (making the playoffs after cj considered a better coach failed for 2 years (was going to be 3)).... Team gains valuable playoff experience

Its also not cassidy fault krejci, krug were injured...plus all those dummy penalties in the series... Those were the difference maker. Especially penalties

The coaching landscape has changed over the past two weeks.

It may even change more over the summer.

After what he accomplished so far, it would be beyond poor form to delay another 3-4 months and keep Cassidy waiting around to see if someone "better" was potentially available.

Claude's old ratpack will keep raising the bar. Next year, second round of playoffs or else. I know they imploded during four-game losing streak in March and wanted everyone to know how uncomfortable and uncertain they felt about the new guy. After all, Claudsy was top three NHL coach don't you know. Claudo had the experience. Clauds had the system. Old Claud inherited first place team in Montreal, did he not. But Claude recently expired first round in NewJackCity. R.I.P.

Terms?

If its two years and a team option im good with that

Anything longer... Not a smart move. Cassidy is under Bruins mercy right now

its not like he's Bill Belichick here, I dont see how its poor form to interview other coaches.

Well deserved. Looking forward to seeing Cassidy coaching what should be a stronger roster next year if Sweeney makes the type of moves I expect him too.

He was missing 3 starting defensemen. You know this, right??

That's a tough thing to overcome in the playoffs. Especially when you have a 40 year old in there. A guy who hadn't played in 3 months, and a 19 year old with no experience.

If they were healthy on defense, there was no way we lose this series.

Congrats to Bruce! He has done a great job with the Bruins and the fans and players like him, so it seems.

Oh my God. He shouldn't get the job because he didn't have an 'answer' for the best defenseman in all of hockey?? This might be the most asinine thing I have ever read on this board.....well, in a while anyways. The only answer for Erik Karlsson is for your team to be better overall than his team. And there was NOTHING that Cassidy could do about that. They had one line that they could count on along with two fourth lines. They had 3 of their 4 defensemen out. And you think somebody else could have done better?! Stop now please! There is something to be said for the entire roster wanting him back as their coach. When the players want to play for you, that is half the battle in this league.

As I continued to campaign for exploration of others Bruins dont even try to look elsewhere.

:help:

Not trying to be a jerk, but this is written in a way that suggests that you are shocked the Bruins ignored you continued campaigning.

Cassidy delivered the goods. You also have no idea who they considered, talked to, or evaluated -- if anyone. You just don't know.

That's good he deserves a chance .I like that he was willing to give the kids a chance more than Julian would have I'm sure. Now not sure what his fascination with Nash is ,hopefully Sweeney will give him more to work with.

I'm pleased. He took a team going nowhere to the playoffs and inspite of being down several key players and having to deal with some pretty one side officiating he gave the Bruins a chance to win . Good luck Bruce.

my only complaint on him was that he never went back to that celharik- Krejci -Pasta line. Especially for game 3, when all 3 were healthy.

That Celharik to McQuaid goal against MTL was my goal of the year for me.
