Shelf life expired for Cassidy and still no word on contract extension for Sweeney. Please remove Neely asap.

Bruce Cassidy pressers / behind the bench always made me think of this character on Sienfeld.

Something had to give.

There is too much heat on a team that gets lit up and out-classed in the east during the playoffs for a while now...

For me, Sweeney is issue #1, but it stands to reason the coach goes first...

The good news is that when (not if) the team declines over the next few seasons there is NO ONE to blame other than Sweeney and Neely.

The fans and the media better be on their asses 24/7 and not let them off the hook. This is their SECOND get out-of-jail free card since Sweeney took over. Who gives a f*ck that they used to play for the Bruins and are great pals?! If the team declines they both need to be fired, period.

So basically we have to waste another year until everyone realizes it wasn't the coach, but the GM... Nice

Feels that way.

It seems as if Sweeney is "coming around" and understands that as well as Pasta and Hall the team needs some Yanni Gorde types to play that heavy game the playoffs require.

Seems far away however as the farm system is pretty bare and the players the Bruins require for an on the fly rebuild are in high demand...

I'll say it yet again. Charlie totally screwed up by not hiring Jeff Gorton to run the team the very second he was let go by NYR.

BTW, if we take the poster's (sorry I tried copy your post but it didn't allow it) suggestion, and send the Jacobs family to colonize Mars, do they get to take their horses with them? It would give new meaning to the phrase, "Eff you and the horse you rode in on." Just sayin' ;-)

There were more than a few of us that felt that way when Gorton became available. It seemed like a complete no-brainer to bring in a talented GM to replace a floundering one, especially one that already did some very good things for the team in the past. Cam and DS continuing to be in place shows how much of a good 'ol boys club the Bruins are. To add insult to injury Gorton went to the Bs most hated rival. I can guarantee one thing, Gorton wouldn't have screwed up the 2015 draft had he been in DS' shoes. Instead, he had a major hand in building a NYR team that not only looks fantastic in 2022, but will be loaded for the foreseeable future.

B...but, Gorton is one of the old boys.

That’s a whole lot of smoke

Thats either his own comments, or the directive down from up high to start laying blame on Cassidy

Neely really has to go. Loved him has a player but I despise him has a team president. Stephane Waite (a personnal good friend of Cassidy) said on the radio that it wasn't the love between Neely and Cassidy. He also said he didn't really like Julien.

With this news, I seriously doubt Trotz would want to come coach here.. Neely will prolly try and find a puppet he'll be able to control. Have to wonder how tied Sweeney's hands are too with Neely as ur boss.

I certainly hope Trotz isn’t the guy. Who looks at this team and wants Trotz? Think we should get more defensive? Come on man.

Trotz turned the Islanders, who had a far worse roster than the Bruins did into a team that made back to back trips to the conference final.

Everywhere he goes, success follows especially with his ability to get more with less.

If the players know so much due their recent success in the cup column of a god damned goose egg, why not make Saint Patrice and his right honorable bishop Brad Marchand the new coaches. f*** it. I mean this is the Causeway St. Boys Club after all and not THE BOSTON BRUINS or anything. Let's just have more players run this team into the shitter because apparently wins and losses don't f***ing matter. It's that everyone gets to sing kumbaya and just pat each other on the ass after a game. :^)

Meanwhile we as fans continue to get screwed at the turnstile in ticket prices and at the concession stands.

This team is such a clown show that all the players and front office need are the make up, wig, and clown shoe skates to match.

That's only if the next shoe to drop is Sweeney and Neely being shown the door. Nothing indicates that the Jacobs family and Sinden are even close to letting these clowns go outside of Sweeney's contract status being up in the air. And I seriously doubt that Cam is going to be allowed to drop his human shield a second time to save himself without ending up on the unemployment line with Don in the process.

The way Sweeney was sniffing during the presser it should remind you of him IMO.
