One thing I saw last time, scoring more goals than them was the key, do that and you win almost all time, specially during the playoff.

Bruce shouldn't give any advice on winning playoff rounds.

Granted he's won more rounds than the leafs, but still.

Why is the title phrased as if the Leafs are some sort of Playoff juggernaut and it's just been discovered how to beat them?

The point is that it's very easy to shut him down in the post season. That's why they have struggled to go anywhere. How come other stars show up and play better, take their teams further? He has not done that, and deserves every bit of criticism.
That's pretty much what he did vs. Tampa last year, the problem is he didn't vs. Florida.

Actually false. Stop marner or nylander who drive the line and matthews becomes invisible. It is how it has always been. Because if you stop them matthews can’t get the puck. And matthews can’t drive his own line by himself. He’s a passenger but that’s not a bad thing. It’s the usual he gets open and they find him. Shut them down he can’t do much. That’s why it’s easy to beat the leafs in thr post season.

A case of Sam Adams Cherry Ale could take the Leafs in six.

Actually most of the top teams, if not all of them, could have their best player not produce and still comfortably win a series. Edmonton and Toronto might be the only two where that isn't the case. Toronto is pretty uniquely top heavy in production and that makes them easier to shut down in a playoff series (in theory).

Shut down Oilers top player McDavid, then watch Leon Draisaitl take over. He has more goals and and points than the entire Leafs roster combined in the playoffs.

That being said, good luck containing McDavid. He doesn't fold like a broken lawn chair like Matthews.

Yep. Hes too good in the regular season, and paid too much to be shut down. But he gets shut down every off season.

You look at a McDavid or Draisaitl or Kucherov, and they don't get shut down. They perform when the pressure is on them. Or are teams not focusimg on those guys?

Its not a novel insight, but yeah, gotta elevate the play

I love Bruce, but I didn't come in here thinking "finally, someone has the answer!" For what it's worth Leaf fans, I feel you. - I'm a Wild fan.

The Leafs have one series win in the Matthews era. The way to beat them is not a secret. The Leafs need to find a way to win.
