''He's no doubt on the verge of becoming a national hockey league coach''

He already has been.......And it went poorly to say the least.

Good look for Toffoli. That bumper play doesn't usually work but it was open because we were passing around the outside so much.

Someone needs to explain the back pass on the PP to me again.

Luke busts his ass to break free and get to the blue line dragging 2 guys with him and then passes back so every Devil and every Bruin is standing still at the blue line for someone to try and gain the zone by going through 4 Bruins while his guys are all flat footed and have to get going from a standstill.

I don’t get it.

In theory, it allows the puck carrier to hit the line with speed and enter clean at the point where the defenders collapse away from. The PP unit can start moving the puck without having to dump and chase, or have a contested entry.

In practice, teams have figured this out, don't overcommit to the first guy, and the entry isn't as clean anymore, so the advantage is lessened.

We still do it because we don't learn.

The way the Devils are doing it, they’re saying the opponent is going to have 4 stationary guys so our 2 trailing torpedos now can see where to go with the puck.

For me, I think the Devils torpedos are too far away when the drop happens and the first guy with the puck should be more aggressive with attempting to skate it straight in to keep other team honest.

Trivia: Dunham?

this was calculated....

The Devils' goaltending controversy started when it was learned early last month that Dunham must play at least 25 games or he will become an unrestricted Group 6 free agent after the season. In an attempt to fill the quota, Lemaire used Dunham for 40 seconds in a 4-0 shutout over the Islanders on Nov. 9.
