They've been a strange team to watch this tournament, at times I've seen them go into a shell all defensive and then at other points try to play all wide open and everything in between, they can't seem to decide what way they want and need to play. They should just pick a game plan and stick to it and get everyone to buy in, I think they would be more successful
I think so too.. all these bad habit from a decade of losing at every level.
Yup, new coach ever year and same problems. It's a mess.
Maybe that's the issue, get a good coach and make him THE coach and hammer home a new identity and game plan that is followed every tournament here that best suits what talent Czechs usually have available right now. More like the Finland model, it's worked for them. I know Finland currently has more talent available and depth but you know what I mean.
I think Jalonen needs a couple more years with the Czech team to work on the things to finally bring the gold home again.
They used to be able to bounce back though, Czech teams in the past used to be very resilient, you couldn't for a second let up on those guys trust me. Granted, they used to have far more talent at their disposal but it's not like the Czechs don't have it in them, they very much do, I witnessed it for a lot of years.
Then its probably the years and years of losing and the fact the team has barely had any success. They just aren't sure what they need to do to win.
I've wondered this myself.... we used to have a style and now we're a hybrid of a bunch of styles. None of it ever works for us. Lost our identity.
