Olympics, Worlds, or juniors, just incase people come in and say Bronze doesn't mean anything.

Bronze means everything. For most of these kids this is the highest they will ever play on an international level and might be the only token of victory they have in their careers. These are memories they'll treasure for the rest of their lives, so hope both teams play their hearts out.

Sweden wins. 4-1. USA usually has hard time getting excited about bronze game.

This.

Losing a WJC, Olympic, WC semi-final will hurt for a while. But over time they will accept it, and coming back and winning bronze would be a great memory.

Bronze might not mean as much to all fans but it'll mean alot for players when they hold them medals in their hands when they get older, that's definitely true.

US has better record in the bronz game. I think this Swedish team cba about this "medal" it was gold that mattered for em.

So i think USA will win today.

Really? I would have guessed otherwise. Maybe it's just about my perception from last Olympics? :dunno:

Sweden was the favorite by many. So I guess they might have hard time getting excited about bronze game when they were expected to play for the gold.

Aha maybe;)

Yeah thats my thoughts aswell they cam in to this tournament as favorit and end up playing for bronz:p cant be that much of a motivator.

Both teams will not give 100% today. Bronze means nothing to them but for some countries, bronze means everything to them(you know which country:naughty:) where they seldom get hold of Gold :sarcasm:

USA wins this one.

Just going to post this here too. I think Sweden can breath a bit. US head coach doesn't study other teams.

Hmm, doesn't the 3rd place team get a better/easier group next WJC? So pretty important thing at stake no?

From another thread...

One of the groups will be silver- and bronze-medal winners, Canada, Slovakia and Latvia.

The other will be the reigning WJC champions, fourth placed team, Czech Republic, Denmark and Switzerland.

Really don't care if we win or lose today. I'm going to watch it and just enjoy the game.

Beating the USA again would be great but if we lose this game then maybe questions about Grönborgs track record as a coach will be raised. He's getting way too much love from the media and people within the federation even though his teams constantly fail to show up in the big games.

Sweden 4-2, would have been nice to have this game for Gold but that's why you have to play the games right. Go Alex Nylander!
