As a USA Hockey fan I just want to say it's good to see Czechia officially back to being a contender in international hockey. The 2010s were a rough decade for you guys and I think the hockey world was worse off for it.
Badinka, no. He is a class of 05. You could say that after all this, fortunately. So at least no one will argue about him

Czechs seem like the coolest people to be around. For years Czechs have had this kinda mystical status in Finnish hockey, Jan Caloun who is probably the best foreign player in Liiga history used to smoke cigarettes in the shower and dominate as he wished.
Czech goalie Dominic Hrachovina mastered perfect Finnish language (one of the hardest ones in the world) and became the most likeable player ever. Also fake injuries are called "czech" for some reason in Finnish locker rooms when you don't really feel like playing, but as a banter ofc.
Love to see Czechs taking a medal again, congrats!

I think Czechs and Finns are particularly idiosyncratic and often get on quite well. Swedes are much more boring generally. (Yes, yes, yes - a MASSIVE generalization, but I can only speak of my 50 years of life experience.)

I don't understand how anyone can defend embellishment. He deserved the boos, and frankly didn't deserve to be playing in this game (I am in favour of post-game reviews leading to suspensions for any embellishment that draws a misconduct, which is the sort of harsh counter-measure that will get it out of the game).

Czechs will have Mrtka, Jiricek, Fibigr and other prospects just as good as this year. Stacked on D. Add Cihar, Kos, Novotny, Sikora, Benak, Titlbach, Curran. I'm pretty sure the Czechs and Canada will medal next year, question is if the US or Finland joins them.

Next year is the team a lot of us Czech posters have thought will be very good. Jiricek and Mrtka in Top 4 is a nice start. Milota is an excellent goalie. Forwards are great and deep again.
however, we will see who gets cut shockingly and who apologizes for personal reasons. Always a controversy in Czech hockey.lol

It sure will be good. I really hope you pick your best prospects available. Good for the neutral hockey fans as well. Finland against you guys or Canada in a final is my dream.
Funny thing with you guys next year is that you have really fun players to follow for the neutral guy. Those top D's as mentioned, but also a little guy like Benak if he can take further steps in his development can be a huge surprise for other than Czech fans. Sikora was already very good and a bit of a surprise this year. Novotny and Cihar do have crystal clear NHL potential as for now. Then you have Zemlicka and Hoch who could grow to become your fourth liners. Big bodied guys with some skill.
Oh I missed Jecho being born in 2006! Damn, you guys could almost dominate. Will be absolute elite amongst your top6 forwards and top4 D's. Even better (or worse depending on how you see it) than I thought.
Please create a thread for next years WJC lol! Besides Finland I want to speculate in your potential roster. It's the most medal contending roster you've ever had imho. The top skill is there and the depth. Bit like finnish 2016 and 2019.

And yes, basically our Top 6 and Top 4 D and starting G are established today for next year.lol Sounds crazy but
G - Milota
Top 6 F - Sikora, Jecho, Kos, Cihar, Novotny and newcomer Benak
Top 4 D - Fibigr, Jiricek, Galvas and add in Mrtka
Obviously things will change. Players will falter others will rise. But it looks good a year out. Like you say, a real unique group as well.
Toss in the Currans, Titlbachs, Pekars, Poletins etc.
