Has a team ever traded the other 1st when both are tied up in a previous conditional trade? I can’t recall if that has ever happened before. Plus I can still see teams adding a prospect with the 1st (and no cap dump with term) for Brock if he becomes available.

Yes - This happened with Panthers 1st rounders in the past few years as they've traded so many. Here were the conditions of the 1st they traded to Calgary for Tkachuk:


Conditions:
If 2024 conditional 1st Round Pick owned by Philadelphia moves to 2025, this pick moves to 2026. If this pick is top 10, Calgary receives 2026 1st Round Pick

Cry more. Guerin has never traded a 1st or a good prospect for a rental.

I hope you keep your 50 point forward. All of you should love that considering how great you think he is. Keep your guy. He’s not worth it to Minnesota.

I'd like to get the Bourque kid out of Dallas for Nelson

they get Marchment back in a few weeks so they might have the roster flex to make a deal by then

Brock has more then proven himself as a 2nd line center (while scoring 30+ at his geriatric age) and has outperformed everyone on the Mild roster in the playoffs over his career but yet he’s only as valuable as a 6th defenseman based on your hockey expertise.

You got it wrong again, I wouldn't give up anything close to Lambos/Peart+3rd for a 6D

We got Bogosian, our current 6D, for a 7th, just so you can correct your frame of reference

Congrats on getting Bogosian for a 7th. Brock will go for more then these absymal Leafs equivalent offers then you keep putting forward.

I wonder if the hopes and dreams will help Minnesota win 2 playoff rounds once or twice in the teams tenure before they move to the south like the North Stars.
 
Nelson is the platonic ideal of "25 1st + 26 3rd + expiring salary filler"

Isles fans hoping for Buium or Ohgren are kidding themselves and Minnesota fans who think Nelson isn't worth it are also delusional

He has averaged 70 points over 82 games over the past 3 seasons. While scoring 30+ goals in everyone of those seasons. Guerin clearly likes Nelson based on the fact that he included Nelson on the 4 nations team. Nelson will likely be the best forward available this deadline.

Just because Minnesota may not be willing to give up a 1st+ doesn’t mean he isn’t worth it. I’m sure Dallas, Winnipeg, or a handful of other teams would love Nelson.

If the isles weren’t so old and stale I would love to keep Nelson, but unfortunately that window has past. It’s time to retool/rebuild. Nelson is an excellent goal scoring 2 way center that would be a big upgrade on every roster in the league.

I don’t really care what Guerin has done or not done. You guys don’t even have a 1st this year. You said Brock is not worth a 1st. That “50 point guy” would be the 1c on the Wild before the emergence of Rossi lmao please. You’re a hater.

Thrilled that we're doing this in another thread but yes, the goal is 2025 first and the best + we can get on top of that. Maybe a prospect of equivalent value to a 2025 first.
