Brisson confirms that EP40 dealt with injury which prevented him from Off-season Training.

Henrik was drafted as a highly talented center that is average in height but skinny, weak on his skates, slow and had to deal with some adversity early in his career. Eventually he was given a leadership role, had to answer uncomfortable questions, and became the highest paid forward on the team. His summer training program allows him to overcome his weakness and became a Hart and Art Ross winner.

Sure Petey has a nice 2.5 seasons in his career, but his build is still essentially the same as his rookie season, his strength and balance seemed to have gotten worse, his handling of pressure (at least with the media) has been unprofessional, he got a letter on his jersey but I don't really think he is living up to the expectations set by some of the previous leaders.

Are you sure Petey couldn't have learn more from the twins? Even just getting their summer workout routine would be huge for Petey.
Henrik is legit 1,87-1,88 m. That's 6 ft 2 for you guys in NA. That's not average height even considering the fact that a lot of hockey players have inflated heights and weights. I've meet some NHL players and most of them were 1-2 inches shorter than the official height. Bertuzzi,Ohlund and Edler were the only ones i've seen up close that were legit 6 ft 3 as listed. Huggy and Garland are shorter than listed.

I would also add if you don't think Pettersson has changed his build since being drafted, I don't think you understand body mechanics. He has definitely added weight and mass.

Yeah and he answered the questions in the way he wanted so what you bitching about? You just want him to answer it in the way YOU want him to.

Dude is literally playing with an injury and somehow we are treating him as if he’s not dogging it.

If anything we should be even more concerned that it took until 4 nations before someone figured out he should have a knee brace.
Please stop making up this story about EP wearing a knee brace. No need to invent things to get your point across. and no, my objection doesn't make me racist against Swedish people.

Petey was top 95th percentile in speed metrics and put up 100+ points until his injuries hit. Sounds like he was able to achieve that without hanging out with the twins outside of work.

Can he learn from the twins? sure, we see them on the f***ing ice practicing together so there is already a professional relationship there, what's your point? They don't hang out outside work and somehow that is an issue?

Like i said before, don't complain about NHL players not showing personality and then complain when they do. I love the irony of you guys complaining about Petey being soft but somehow make a big deal about him saying "not as annoying as dealing with the media". Why you guys so soft on the media.

My point is the twins reached out to mentor Petey and he didn't even get back to them. Sure they worked together on the ice and that's great, but there were more he could've learn from 2 legends. Sidney Crosby was asking Lemieux daily for tips and picking his brain all the time, even living with Mario for his first season. And Crosby was already a phenom coming into the league at 18. Crosby seems like the type that always strive to be the best and never stop learning/improving, he is always the hardest worker. That drive is what separate the great players from the elites, IMO.

As to your last paragraph, I never commented on that so I assume its not directed at me? I never complain about NHL players not showing personality by the way, I think that is highly overrated and its just not important to me. I do find it funny that Petey went out of his way to say its annoying to deal with the media, when IMac didn't ask him what's annoying him.

You think THAT was complaining? Man, are you ever overly sensitive!

Whatever, carry on.
well there are different levels of complaining, you are at least interested enough to debate with me for how many messages now?

hell it's interesting that at one hand you are like .. i don't care about player showing personality and on the other hand, why the hell is Petey not cozying up to the twins as much as possible and why the hell did Petey not answer a question the same way how the twins and bo does it, which is without any personality. it seems like you want them to act in a very specific way and at the same time like to convince yourself you actually don't care how he acts.

I don't recall where I say Petey has to "cozying up" with the twins, can you find a quote where I said that?

I said I found it "funny" how Petey went out of his way to call the media annoying, but I can't imagine anybody would interpret that as "complaining".

I think a player that strive to be the best would never give up any opportunity to learn from 2 of HOFers, but how does that have anything to do with "showing personality"?

These things are not connected at all.

Actually, his speeds numbers dropped by about 10% from 2022-23 to 2023-24 which was before the injury. They dropped even more significantly as the 2023-24 season progressed, but the trend had already started before the injury.

I don't know the answer to this, but just thinking and questioning out loud. Could that small drop be from playing a aggressive free flowing style under Bruce to a more structured defensive system in tocchett?

Who knows, really. Although I wouldn't characterize 10% as a small drop. Its not as big as the drop that followed, but its not insignificant, and isn't something that can just be ignored.

great, now we are debating semantics, always a great sign.

is it really out of his way? he gets a question that he finds to be annoying and he says well you guys are annoying *paraphrasing*. seems fairly in the moment to me but hey i guess anything that is not a direct answer is out of the way in your POV right?

it's more you want a player to act in the way you want him to act and yet at the same time same, i don't care how he acts.

Left is 2022-23 before injury, right is 2023-24 where he was healthy for half and injured for half.
I have no clue what you mean by the speed numbers drop by 10%, like which month? I assume the data shown in these charts are averaged out.

Would love to see the data on his metrics prior to injury (jan).

You putting words in my mouth then blame me for arguing semantics? Cmon, you are better than that.

The exact quote was "when we asked Petterson whether confidence is a factor when struggling to score, the alternate captain said "it's more annoying dealing with the media."" Nowhere did IMac asked Petterson what he found annoying, he was asking whether confidence is a factor of his struggle. Petey went from that to explicitly stating that dealing with the media is annoying was unprompted. So yes, he did went out of his way to say it. How are you not understanding this!?

You have dug so deep into protecting/defending Petey at all cost, that you can't even comprehend what you are reading anymore.

It's painfully obvious considering the way he's evolved as a player.
