In wondering whether the Isles will call up any additional "Black Aces", I took a look at the BP schedule for this weekend. They play Friday/Sat/Sun going from Hartford on Friday, up to Syracuse on Saturday night to come back to BP to play a day game. What a hellacious final weekend. 5-6 hour bus trip after a night game to go right into a day game.

Sounds like another bus breakdown might be in the works.

Good for gathering experience, especially for the younger or newer guys who have been brought in.

Can't see the team winning more than one game, but at this point, it seems like there's little more there to do other than make the most of things from a developmental standpoint.

As an aside, I should be seeing Brent Thompson's son play for the US in Switzerland over the next ten days. Dunno yet what kind of a role he has or if he'll have one considering Hanifin and Werenski haven't yet been confirmed.

Bridgeport beat Syracuse 4-2 with Williams making 31 saves on 33 shots.

Rex, maybe we have something here. He had great stats at Minnesota State, but played on a team that didn't give up a lot of shots. But in Bridgeport, he's facing a ton of rubber, probably 30+ a game, yet still is 3-1 with a 2.28 ga and a .931 sp. Pretty damned impressive playing on such a bad team. If he has a great camp, he may just be Halak's backup next season. Jumping the gun here a bit, would love to see him get a full season at Bridgeport, but you never know.

Like in these games he's getting a lot of work (compared to college) and handling it well. Just a tiny sample, we should know better next year with a full season with Bridgeport. Kind of expect Snow will sign a goalie this summer to back up Halak.

Williams is beasting. Too bad BPoRt isn't a playoff team. Would love for this kid to get a lot of work in.

I believe Koskinen was only signed in Russia for the 2014-15 season. Maybe he comes back as Halak's backup ? 3 seasons over in Europe, maybe he has enough seasoning now ?

Guess it's a possibility. He seasoned enough, is he good enough, don't know. It's now six years since Koskinen was drafted.

After today's last game do any of these kids get called up to the big club?
We already scratch 6 players each game
Boulton,McDonald,Hamonic,Donovan,grabner, and Griff.
No aces this year?

Alan Quine had a solid second AHL season with 60 points, but not much talk about him. How do you guys see his chances as a potential NHL player down the road?

I thought Quine was a great draft choice, talented guy. Had a very good season for Bridgeport. Don't know if he's good enough to make the big club though. Might have to have an insanely good camp to even be in the discussion.

Did Poulin get hurt ? Looks like Williams played the 3rd period.
