Goalies are not the problem, except when we need our third goalie. Lack of depth. Lou got the tandem he wanted, all they need is a team in front of them.LOL, do you think Vary is worth anything anymore? lol, you are kidding yourself.
Was at the game last night and here are my observations:
Bolduc-good shot not great defensively
Odelius-nice d zone exit on one play but still needs another 1/2-1 year in the AHL to develop
Foudy-Good overall game! Will never likely be more than a 4th liner in the NHL but better than Fashing, Martin and probably Kyle Maclean IMO
Jeffries-okay game one PP assist otherwise not too noticeable out there
No one else on Bridgeport is worth talking about unfortunately as the team lost 6-4!!
9-26-2-2 is the recordBlowout loss. 7-1
Bolduc power play assist
IDK, Chris has proven he is just as inept as Lou. The transition will be seamless. The silver lining to the AHL season is that the likelihood of Chris Lamoriello ascending to the Isles GM spot is now remote. Not impossible unfortunately, but quite unlikely.
I'm looking for a bit of info on Marc Gatcomb. Do people think he is going to stick with the big club? does he have any kind of future as a pk'er or is he strictly the 4th liner who hits everything that moves?
I realize team defense is a problem up in Bridgeport. Some of this can be attributed to Cholowski, George, and Grant Hutton missing from their lineup. What can't be written off is the amount of times they have looked totally unprepared to be on the ice. Last night Henrik Tikkanen got his doors blown off in the 1st period and was pulled 12 minutes into the game after giving up 5 goals on 11 shots. The Bridgeport problem isn't just the Isles prospects underperforming, it's also the AHL vets that play for them. Other than Pinho and Chris Terry, the others look like they're there just to collect a paycheck once a month. How many times do they have to get blown past from a center ice faceoff to watch them give up multiple goals in less than 2 minutes.
