Apparently Gill has looked pretty good.

Another assist tonight.

Then again, the team blew a mid-game 2-0 lead and lost 3-2 in regulation time tonight. They had an unsuccessful PP in the middle of the 3rd with the score tied at 2 and shortly after it was killed off, Belleville got a ho-hum mouthfront presence tip-in for the win.

I think it was Jefferies first point in 7 games.

ASIDE:
Apparently BPort is wayyyy down at the bottom of the league in PP efficiency. It didn't actually look alllll that bad in the one instance I saw last night. They could set up and move the puck around. But Newpower was manning the point and the entire idea is to get the puck to Terry, who then looks for a sly pass-shot towards the goal. That seemed to be what they did the whole time.

Rough night for the B-Isles. Lost 6-1 to Hartford. In this game:

Bridgy allowed a power play hat trick to Alex Belzile.

Allowed 5 unanswered goals

Allowed 3 goals in 52 seconds in the 3rd period, 2 of them on ensuing faceoffs 7 seconds apart (this is when the Isles checked out for the night).

Allowed Matt Rempe to score.

Had maybe 200 people in the stands.

Different Lamiorello, same vibes
Good riddance to both.

I’d love for this team to end up at the Coli.

Jeffries PPG from Odelius for the prospects

Jeffries goal was an absolute snipe. Bar down with the goalie giving him maybe a puck’s width at his shoulder. Goal scorer’s goal.

Isles were still in this game at 3-1. Generating a lot of good chances in an up and back game until the last 5 minutes of the 2nd. I had to keep reminding myself that they are missing Hutton, George and Cholowski on defense. That is the reason they had to bring back Seth Helgeson on a PTO a few weeks ago.

A few things.

The B-Isles are around 13% on the PP (28th), and 77% on the PK (27th). 56 Goals for in 21 games (21st).

He’s not an NHL prospect anymore. He’ll go the ways of Bode Wilde.
Never seen much from Dufour even when many here had visions of the next Bossy coming. There was a reason he was a late round pick but it’s funny how the Isles struggle to develop players even though the kid made strides before getting into the Bridgeport system where most promising players are turned into beer league prospects. Glad that George didn’t see much time there

Forward prospects go to die in the Bridge. I understand he was a 5th but look at MDC, Bellows, Wally before him

And the way our bottom 6 has been completely anemic this year I’d love to see Jeffries up soon

Dufour’s skating and hockey sense was never good. I understand Bridge hadn’t developed forward prospects but Dufour can’t be blamed on Bridge.

Anyone NHL caliber has made it out of the Bridge alive (Lee, Nino, Nelson, etc.). You can't blame guys who sucked there but went onto different organizations and never amounted to anything either.

For sure, I’m not sure what Bridgeports record was back then but certainly losing all the time creates a bad environment and players start doubting their abilities. Dufour is a good example of progressing well through juniors then continuing in AHL before falling off the cliff. There is something there and losing all the time is a part of it

Thank you all for the reports from the Bridge. Any observations on Foudy's play? I have just been stat watching on him and others. I was hopeful that maybe the varsity team had a player.

Thanks

I think the season we are having (pitiful) and the realistic chance we are going to start moving out players. I think a 23 yrs old Jefferies needs to get his shot the 2nd half of the year to see what is really is. And to that, Dulfour too, he's 22 and had a decent year last year, not so much this year. I just want to see what we have. Who cares if we lose games at this point.

A la Fasching and MacLean, which AHL player will get a call up, exceed expectations only to come back to earth (and the AHL) next season?

The winner of the contest gets a meet and greet with Sparky or Storm (your choice) in the offseason at a dive bar.
