I just don't see him staying. All indication was that he preferred the east coast and I doubt that's changed playing for Cronin on this struggling Ducks team. I think he's been solid overall. If he'd re-sign for 1-2, I'd be okay with it.

Dude is a calming presence. But last night he was upset and rightfully so. He had the puck on the boards and no ducks players where Available for passes. He ended up turning the puck over because Columbus had 2 guys pounce on him. Gibson made the save but He was pissed after and looked at all the ducks players. Like wtf you guys doing. I get a sense he might want to move on and I don't blame him

I like Dumoulin and he's been a good fit. I do sort of wonder if he'd sign here without being overpaid. I'm fine giving an inflated one or two year deal but not sure about getting into term.

I could honestly just see starting next year with Zell, Minty, Lacombe on the left and Trouba, Gudas, Helleson on the right as our six regulars.

Sure he's been a nice surprise, but given the general shallow pool of reliable dmen he's likely to get a lot longer than a 1-2 year offer (I'm guessing at least 3 if not 4) and it'll be for significant money. He'll be 34 next year, this is the last NHL contract he'll ever sign ... he needs to maximize it for his own sake. It doesn't make sense for us to be the team that offers it. We have better places to spend than the one position where our pipeline is deepest.

I agree, I doubt he would return anything more than a 3rd/4th, and at that point I'd rather go with the one we know will mesh well on the team instead of finding a new vet to take his place. But of the current roster I think he's first to go to make room for any more youth coming up.

He's playoff tested and is a solid puck moving dman, who's solid in his own zone. His cap hit is very manageable. There might be enough demand to get a 2nd, all it takes is one team, or a combo like a 3rd and a 4th.
