It's incredibly amazing that this thread has gone through 374 posts of basically the same people reiterating the same points in slightly different ways. Aren't you guys bored of this conversation yet?
I take periodic breaks, then I get rejuvenated.

We can all argue who we want in, Boyle, or Asham or Halpern. Whatever, thats fine.

But to those who want to dump Boyle for a pick, what sense does that make?

We need depth for a playoff run, not a 3rd round pick.

I won't be happy until we have the entire 3rd round.

I admit im not a boyle fan however im all for keeping him. Injuries will probably occur at some point and i think boyle is a decent 4th line player. depth is key. The only way i would trade him is IF a bad team offers their first round pick

 yeah, I'd ship him out then, too

I will drive Boyle to the airport and pack his bags for him if the Rangers are offered a Guastad-esque package for him (AKA a first rounder basically).

Boyle with his great FO ability, shot blocking and general good defensive play wouldn't have allowed that meltdown in the 3rd.

Time to send Miller back down, call up Ferreiro. Play Boyle with Kreider and Callahan.

Yep it's all Miller's fault. :shakehead Rangers fans want 2 4th lines again it's unbelievable.

BTW, http://www.nhl.com/ice/scores.htm?date=10/29/2011, why didn't Boyle's great FO ability, shot blocking, and general good defense prevent this collapse against a team far worse than the Bruins?

Great, that's one game. Boyle is the model of consistency trying to defend a lead out there. I wouldn't have any other forward out there if we are holding the lead with 40s left.

Says the guy overreacting to one game against the Bruins.

Law of averages. Miller played at an unsustainable rate and is falling back to earth quickly. The team is much better with Boyle on the ice, he's just off to an unlucky start.

Miller won't play like he played against the Islanders the rest of the way. However, it really helps to have a player that knows how to pass and skate on the 3rd line. Boyle's defense is redundant on a defensive team that has one the best Ds in the league and the best goalie. We need to balance the team out.

I think Boyle is just as good offensively right now than Miller.

I would be willing to bet that Miller is going to look MUCH better in the ozone with the upcoming teams. The Bruins are a hard team along the boards, and thats tough for a 19 year old kid acclimating.

I think he played fine all things considered.

Whatever you say. Seriously seems like you're Boyle's sibling or something. You despise everything about this team except for Boyle.

I would like to see the evidence on why Miller is a better option offensively right now than Boyle. Is it based on the 1 game sample size against the Islanders? a 7 game sample size in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships? Or maybe his 0.5 PPG production at the AHL level (which Boyle has shattered before). I think Miller is a fine prospect, but he is just a prospect. He is not close to being as good as Boyle right now.

Absolutely. A 19 year old player struggled against one of the deepest, toughest, and most talented teams in the league? Stop the presses! Hopefully he gains experience and once the playoffs hit he'll be ready for teams like Boston.

Or you know let's get rid of him. Just like the Devils should have done with Henrique last year.

It's based on what I've seen in every game but this one. He can skate and pass. Not sure about his shot yet, but it can't be any worse than Boyle's. Boyle is GARBAGE offensively. Half a step above Rupp.

Funny you mention Henrique.

It took him 1 full season to adapt in the AHL before his permenant call up with the Devils. He also did this at age 22.

Miller is 19.

There is plenty of time, no need to rush.

Meanwhile we're throwing away this season playing with 2 4th lines.
