He's a beaut. Unless the goal is to trade him and fill out other holes at once, I can't understand why he'd be on the market.

It would take a package that would really hurt a team, or a team built for the future that could spare a ton of potential.

NMC. Can’t see him waiving or the Lightning asking. They’d need to fire their coach and go into a full rebuild for Point to consider. Too good still for that.
If it did come to happen, Point gets to choose his destination. So the return would reflect that.

Even considering this feels like overreaction to a superstar in his prime and under contract for his entire prime (do not bring up “well Rantanen was traded” it’s not even a remotely similar situation) having one sub-par series.

The return Tampa would require to even consider this would have to be so crippling to the other team that you’d be crazy to consider it.

Last offseason, TBL tried to start a small retool, Geekie McDonagh Moser in, Sergachev, Stamkos out. I d assume they would try to do something similar this offseason, Like Dealing Cernak, Cirelli or Paul but Point I don t see the point.

To Calgary (Point is from CGY, maybe would accept a trade there, CGY needs offense)
Brayden Point, rights to Isaac Howard

To Tampa: Rasmus Andersson, Zayne Parekh, Ryan Lomberg

OR Rasmus Andersson, Nazem Kadri, some sort of picks

To LAK (Reverse Lightning composition where they have league best D and it falls apart vs Edmonton)

To LAK: Brayden Point

To Tampa: Brandt Clarke, Alex Laferriere, Tanner Jeannot (Lol)

To Buffalo: (they want NHL players and have a ton of prospects, but doubt Point would waive)

Ideally, Flames throw in a prospect or two to help replenish a pretty dry well for TB (not Parekh, I understand), but I wouldn't be dissatisfied with a trade like this. Why so quick to take it? Is Andersson not as good as advertised? I feel like he would be pretty good with TB
