Again with this .... Edler has a NMC and pretty much said he won’t waive it. So he’s not going anywhere. It’s either resign him now or let him hit free agency in summer.

I don’t think you get more than a 4/5 for Guddy. But I’ll take it. Some teams in the east may want a “tough” defensman going on to playoffs. And in the east they probably don’t watch him much.

It should have been communicated to Edler in the summer that he was not in the team's future plans and he should spend the next few months looking at other teams that he might want to re-sign with. Edler even said himself he doesn't want to be on a team that doesn't see him in its future plans. But the problem is Benning is Benning and figured we should re-sign Edler because he needs to make the playoffs soon to save his job. That doesn't mean I'm going to change my standard. Edler should be traded by the deadline. If he isn't, it's another blunder.

I think you mean the last 8 months? He played about 60 games in 17-18 so that doesnt add up with your 18 months. I do agree though that he shouldnt be traded away unless we get a solid return.
