lol. The real question should be Zacha or Wood. That could be an actual debate.

Would love Wood on the Oilers.

Fits the way Holland has been trying to build the forward roster this year. Big, fast, and physical winger to compliment the elite top end skill the Oilers have.

Wood could have a couple Josh Anderson or Alex Tuch type years. Bratt probably the more consistent long term producer.

Don't really see either as priority targets for many teams but I think I go Wood on this one.

Starting a new team? Bratt by 500 miles. Simply a much better hockey player.

On the Avs - who can score plenty but have perhaps needed an injection of ruggedness to get over the “hump” and whose team ethos is built on speed? I feel like Wood would be a terrific fit. Bratt feels to me like he’d be a forward version of Girard - highly skilled, highly intelligent but simply a slightly built player who could be neutralized somewhat in a highly physical series against Vegas. I feel Wood could excel in those chaotic moments where the intensity of the speed and forechecking and physicality is amped.

Having watched or listened to almost every Devils game last season, Miles by a mile.

Bratt's game reminds me of a presentation by the late Red Gendron at one of the first coaching clinics I attended.

He showed a clip of the Czech national team "cycling".

"Beautiful isn't it?" he asked. "They're not getting anywhere or doing anything but they're cycling."

I think Miles Wood gets a little overrated at times...everyone loves big, fast, gritty.
And Jesper Bratt probably gets a little underrated at times...hard to respect a 6th rounder.

Its Bratt for me.

Comparing these 2 players is kinda like asking would you rather someone stole your wallet or punched you in the face?
If you're starting a team Bratt is obviously the more skilled choice but if you're an established contender, you've probably got quite a few players like Bratt so you'd want a Wood style player

Bratt is clearly the better player.
Obviously could depend on team needs, but I take Bratt every time.

Would I rather have 1,000 dollars (Bratt) or 100 dollars (Wood)? Tough choice! Anyone who says Wood needs to lay of the shrooms.

Or they've actually watched the Devils play over the past four years of lousy hockey and watched Bratt find endless ways to not be engaged in the play.

If you're having a cone drill contest, he's your guy. Winning hockey games? Not so much.

Different teams have different needs, most contending teams have a few Bratt style players, but probably not many that play like Wood.
For a new team or a rebuilding team it's Bratt by a large margin

Wouldn’t the better player compliment McDavid and Drai more? You could have Bratt-RNH-sniper type for a lethal second line. McDavid got goals out Pat Maroon at a decent clip, nothing against Maroon who I love but he doesn’t scream top 6 finisher.

All I know is that Bratt produces at a much higher rate than Wood and doesn’t take a million penalties. You’re comparing a top 6 player to a 4th liner lmao

Yeah, assuming both players are equal in ability, sure. But Bratt is clearly the better player

Doesn't matter that Bratt is the better player if he's being traded to a team that has a bunch of guys like him, he'll end up on the 3rd or 4th line. Wood is suited to play on those lines, so if a contender was taking one, they'd probably go for the less skilled but more physical Wood.

This isn't simply a which guy is better question, I'd rather have Bratt, but I completely understand why people are saying Wood and don't necessarily think they are wrong
