I think we should maybe anticipate significant rust from the boys starting up in real contact games against tough competition after 10 months off. Plus we are putting a new coaching staff and system in with no preseason games and a shortened training camp. Like opening against a Bruins team that had play during the fall playoff season, no matter that they were knocked out; and that has a lot of cohesion, even if Marchand and Pasternak will be out.

We should be happy to be competitive and getting better every night. To see Bratt, Hughes and other young players developing. And if we surprise and challenge for a playoff spot - just icing on the cake.

Important that our expectations are adjusted so that we actually enjoy what we have here. Real hockey after 10 months.

yeah. If it was 5.5 per, I'm sure many here would question Fitz' sanity while congratulating Bratt's agent for fleecing him. lol.

Not sure if quarantine limits have changed. 3 games missed would have him eligible for the Isles game on the 21st. That would mean he only has to quarantine for 7 days.

Regardless, the number of games he'll miss won't affect his development compared to the Doom-And-Gloom projected by some here.

I might give Bratt a week after he arrives to practice and get him at least some mild competition with the team before I put him in a game. I’m sure he kept himself in shape but he probably has as much rust to shake off as anyone.
