Brantford Bulldogs 2024 25 Season Thread Part I

North Bay getting some serious goaltending so far in this series. Been really impressed for how well a young #8 seed team has been playing so structured.
Game's were pretty tight during the regular season too. Pretty entertaining 3 games for a 1v8 seed so far.

McIvor is seriously underrated. He’s one of few bright spots on our season, statistically he’s been absolutely amazing, putting up numbers with top team goaltenders on an 8th seed full of 07’s and 08’s. Leenders is an excellent tender too, super calm demeanour and all the right things to play at the next level. Solid game tonight

as a North Bay fan cant wait til next year

No Jiricek. I don't know why he's out. So assuming its not personal or sickness, his # of injuries is getting ridiculous.
He's looked off since his most recent return. Wouldn't be surprised if he's been playing through something. There was times this year he looked like a really dynamitic player but its a shame he hasn't been able to play a whole lot.

Tough year for em.

Tough period for Lucas Moore. An absolutely terrible read on the 2nd goal. Really not sure what he was thinking.

Bulldogs still had chances but are trying to get too cute with the puck again.

Our rookies are really looking like rookies tonight.

Well deserved loss if we’re being fair.

There’s been a lot of subpar play this series by the dogs and it finally caught up to them. Losing tons of battles, the PP looks dreadful, bad break outs and plenty of other things that elite teams will pounce on if the bulldogs move on.

Since it’s going to most likely be Oshawa Brantford 2nd round does anyone in here know the home dates for the brantford games would like to make a trip down for a game thanks

I’m not why anyone would have thought the bulldogs would dominate this series. Brantford-NB had four regular season games decided by one goal with NB outshooting Brantford in all I believe.

This is the first time for the most part that the team has been fully available. For much of the season Bulldogs were using d-man as forwards and what not. As a one seed, I think people expected a lot more.

Personally, I'm not sure they did enough at the deadline if they wanted to really go for it this year and this series is kinda showing that but I do hope I'm wrong.

The bulldogs did enough to give themselves a chance in a year six teams thought they had a chance.
All of the playoff teams in the eastern conference experienced holes in the roster due to injury or illness during the season, and/or players not meeting expectations. I thought the conference would be better over al TBH.

They also kept all of their draft capital for next year when the East Division will not be nearly as strong. I support the route they took this year.

Agreed. They made moves to stay competitive and stuck to their guns with what they were willing to give up. They tried to bring in more firepower (Pinelli) but it didn’t work out. I don’t think by any means it was a go-for-it year. When they’re on they’re on and have potential to beat anyone and when they’re off, it’s ugly. True colours show through in a best of 7. We’ll see how deep they this run will go…

What is the ugly being referred to here? Brantford-NB coaches have seen enough of each other to know exactly what each face.
North Bay is not an ideal match up imo. Brantford is a trap, counter strike team that can run up the score on teams that are aggressive or need to catch up

When they sit back on their heels, get lazy, and get beat in all the battles. The passing and rest of the game deteriorate from there. Happened too often in Oct/Nov and happened at the end of the season against Brampton. Ugly.
