Brantford Bulldogs 2024 25 Season Thread Part I

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Announcers doing a good job, very nice to finally listen to. A pairing not bias.

Gutsy win for the team. Bench is getting concerningly short. Hopefully we start getting some bodies back before we lose any more. After tonight I count 7 out? (Avery, Tsherna, Testa, Crombie, Holmes, Egorov, Jiricek)

Same way we destroyed Kingston last time we met! And don't use we had the flu excuse.

WJ
They did have the flu LOL I got told we had 17 players/personnel sick. Number may be slightly exaggerated by the person who told me this but even half of that is 8/9 people.

Was the 3rd game of a long northern road trip and they still managed to put 6 on the wolves. Regardless season series tied 1-1 and fronts have put up 13 goals in the 2 games vs you guys.

O'Brien is on pace to smash all time points lead, If he plays all of his 19 year old year here.

Covid hurts Morrison. I think he is right around 300 without the missed year.

Meant on a pure goal scoring not so much points.

Morrison 17 goals in the playoffs along with 91 in reg season would still be tough to beat though.

I'm with you. Was more adding to the discussion than disputing your Lardis claim.

It's hard to include the rentals of Thomas in 18, and McTavish in 22, but for guys that spent more time here there is no question it's Lardis, Kaliyev, and everyone else.

The interesting debate, if we're talking pure goal scorer, is who the #3 spot goes to.

Anyone else playing a violin?

Little bit about last night.

I know he didn't have to face too many high danger shots, but Leenders looked solid. He's really starting to heat up and showing why that trade was worth it.

I really like this D core right now. It's come a long way from the start of the year. Budnick may be the most intense guy on this team. Hope Jiricek isn't out for long.

Loved the love for Roberts last night. Not too many guys have his heart, even if it gets him into trouble sometimes.

The bottom 6 is really just plug and play at this point. Need some health to compliment what the top 6 is doing. Can't understate what Nelson does for this team.

Current injuries:
week-to-week:
Crombie
Egorov

day-to-day
Tsherna
Holmes
Avery
Testa

Jiricek is expected back in on friday

Edit: I added the timelines for the injuries

Looks like Jiricek isn't in tonight. Lower end of this lineup is a little thin.

Also looks like O'Keefe is not in and it's Babin.

It's an IF, but if Jenik had stayed healthy he would have had the best season ever by a Bulldog.

If anyone doesn't know, Egorov tried to catch a Lardis shot with his blocker hand, yes like with his open palm, in practice and he literally lost the tip of a finger.

That's his injury. Literally had his finger blown off from a Lardis shot.

No Brown or Rossetto tonight in Windsor.

Gonna be a lot of cages out there.
The posted lineup is a mess. Geez.

He was so much fun to watch.

A bit of a hot take, but I believe that Jenik was the most dominant Bulldog ever. He wasn't around long enough to really show it, but he was a man playing with boys.

On another note, how crazy is it that a team that had a PP stumbling along at 5% just before Christmas is now leading the OHL?

And the PK is third. If they can ever get the depth to stay healthy....

Special teams, goaltending, I trust the D so much more with the Budnick add, and the top 6 are going to score.

Point on the road, against a really good team in Windsor, with 9 guys out.... gotta take it and run.

Agree the lineup card tonight was laughable but what can you do. I hope the team is staying the night. Brutal road conditions

Windsor resident and Spitfire fan here. I just wanted to say you guys have a good club. We don`t get to see you guys much in the regular season but it was a very entertaining game. You guys were thin with a lot of scratches and at the tail end of a road swing, but put forth a real strong effort. Should be a great back end of the season, and we wish you luck in the east !

Nice win for your team last night. You're right, we had 9 guys injured and out last night, but no one is going to feel sorry for another team. Have to play the team/roster on the schedule.

Good luck in the West.

Anyone have thoughts on what they should do with Leenders workload until Egorov is back?

Im not sure they can give Snyder a game (although, I'd love it for him. Watched him play since he was a much younger kid).

At the same time, I wouldn't be willing to burn Leenders out just to protect Snyder.

As a Fronts fan, I'd be in favour of Leenders playing every single game until the end of the season ;-)

I could see Leenders playing Fri/Sun against Niagara, and putting Snyder in against the Greyhounds on Monday. They don’t really have a lot of options. Need some bodies back to be able to feel confident in making that move though.

If he plays, I could see this. It will let them control the D matchups to try and protect him a little bit.
