I wanted to make this thread before the game tonight so that if he has a big game it doesn't look like a reactionary thread.

Because the Truth is I do think it's going to happen at some point be it at the deadline or free agency.

His brother is already with the Leafs it feels extremely likely they reunite.

Great, 17 points (9 goals) in 53 games. Why do we need another depth forward that barely scores? I guess it’s better than what the Leafs have there, but still why? Leafs need another legit offensive threat, this not that. So why bother?

Make an offer. We could trade sweaters before the puck drops.

The Leafs could also use a good PKer and someone that brings it come playoffs.
Switching Tanev for Robo,Reaves or Pontus is a positive move.
Tanev,Kampf and Lorentz is a great 4th line

They do need a depth scorer, they also need a better bottom 6 in general.

Brandon Tanev is an instant upgrade over Holmberg and Reaves.

Tanev-Kampf-Lorentz is a strong 4th line

I love how HF will always strive to reunite brothers, childhood friends, and players to their hometowns. I always wonder if the internet would have been crashed with threads trying to unite all the Sutter brothers if it existed when they played.

Stop posting crap originally floated by Ekplug.

This is all me, I haven't seen Eklund or anyone else post it.

In fact the last time I went to hockeybuzz the website was down, I legitimately do not know what you are talking about

I don't expect Tanev to cost that much. A 3rd sounds about right but it will come down to how much we are being asked to retain.

Edit: I should add that GM's go a little crazy about Tanev like forwards for playoff runs. I wouldnt be shocked if someone overpaid for him.

In a vacuum I’d take Tanev on the Leafs. But with his contract and only being a low end 3rd/high end 4th liner, I can’t see how it makes any sense for us. He doesn’t fill a big enough need vs a 3C or top 4 D. There are better, more impactful, ways to spend the cap space
