Former Bruins Brandon Carlo III

This is going to be a "you don't know what you've got till it's gone" situation. Defensive d-men get shat on hard because most of what they do doesn't show up on a stat sheet and their mistakes often do. Carlo is pretty darned good at what he does.
Both teams may win this trade. We needed a guy like him on the leafs. You got a good young Center and pick. Minten was the captain of team Canada at the world Jrs

He was also not half bad at putting them in (to his own net)

Unfortunately when you block shots, sometimes deflections happen and they end up taking a bounce that favors the other team. Carlo over the last 4 years has 493 blocked shots, which puts him roughly top 35 in the NHL.

I hear you but I am extatic with the return and happy that he is helping the Leafs with their chase of the cup.

You realize this is actually a reflection of how ineffective he's been, right?

You can't block shots if you have possession of the puck. Carlo's inability to corral/move the puck meant he was constantly chasing the play and needed to be in position to block that many pucks.

Like, good for him for finding a way to be useful - but he wasn't signed to be a goalie.
