Former Bruins Brandon Carlo III

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
If the B's have a remote chance of making the PO's, I doubt Sweeney will trade anyone of consequence.
Myself, the significant players I'd dangle are : Carlo, Frederick, Coyle, and Zacha. At the trade deadline I think you can get quite a bit more than they are worth.
This was almost a knock out call.

Farewell to Brando. Brandon seemed like a really good egg but like most eggs his shell got cracked a couple times.
I wish him all the best and a healthy rest of his career.
He's a good, clean moral kind of guy.
IMO like all the other trades that DS made today it had to be done. I think he got a really good return on him, and actually all of the trades. So far I'm giving DS an A-. Of course that may change when I see the actual returns but so far, I like.

Carlo was a decent player in Boston but Peeke can do the job ….

That's basically what it comes down to. Essentially the same player. Add Zadorov on the left side and Carlo became even more expendable. He might have the best pedigree, but the return was too good to pass up for a player who's shown a few signs of early decline.

I'm not sure Toronto offers the stability Carlo would thrive in. We will see. I've always been a supporter.

I remember when he was a rookie and that already feels like forever ago. Seems like a good kid. Wasn't he also the player rep?

I'd say good luck in Toronto but I don't want them to win, ever. lol The best I can do is say if by some insane way they win the Cup, there is one player for whom I would be happy.

He wasn't as bad as many posters here seem to believe. Had a rough season, but so did 85% of the team. Any D with size who doesn't play nasty, will get criticized*. But he used his reach fairly well, was a good PKer. Maybe not a stellar puck carrier or a huge threat to score, but he was what he was - a decent 2nd-pairing D man.

* Then we bring in Zadorov, who has size and IS nasty, hits often, and actually moves the puck quite well, and can attack the net when needed ... and of course he gets criticized.

Who was expecting more than a first-round pick and a prospect?
I thought we would get at best a 2nd rounder or a carrear AHLer! I thought I was seeing things when I saw the total package. I would have been extatic with just FM but add the picks and this is a absolute steal.

He’s a top 4 defenseman making less than $4.5M with two more years of term, clear PK1, and has been buried more than any defenseman in the league over the past 5 years. If anything I think you could hope for a bit more of a return, but it’s pretty solid. Carlo has never been appreciated for the role he has played.

You left out that he's also a black hole on offense, that matters
