Brampton Steelheads 2024 25 Season Thread Part I

Wonder what they do next year with obviously the rumour about Ivankovic leaving for Michigan

Like Harry Mews in Sudbury, it's just a rumor until an official commitment is announced. But they definitely need some depth back there. Currently:

Ivankovic
Gillespie, if he's an OA
Paolini, aka Daren Pang Lite
2024 pick Chlebowski from Illinois, if he signs
Johnson

Couple big questions for next year.

1: is Martone back?

2: Who else comes back?

3: How big of a leap does Ivankovic take?

4: To retool, or to not retool?

5: How do the 2 first round picks fit in?

1. Yes

2. Pretty much everyone. There are 5 eligible to be OA's, but 2 were call-ups. Eliminate them and you have Zebeski, Zidlicky, Gillespie.

3. Hate to say it, but he may have peaked. I hope I'm wrong.

4. Minor tweaks.

5. See how they do in pre-season, give them plenty of ice until glaring mistakes become too frequent.

Seems like a goodbye post not just a see you next year one.

With rumours of him going to the NCAA that have been going on all year and him being very talented and NHL size there’s still a chance he ends up in the NHL next year too. I’d have to say going back to Brampton may be his 3rd option.
