Brady Tkachuk vs Mitch Marner

The poll results have been wiped because of the crash, but Tkachuk was, in fact, leading the poll.

Marner finished the season with 102 points. B. Tkachuk had 55. He's going to have be quite a beast the rest of the first round to justify the poll results.
No anti Leaf bias on HFboards tho!!

His ability disappears when the games matter more, there is no compete level with the player.
Then throws a tantrum on the bench like a little kid, if he gets critisism.
I know!
And this Leafs-Sens series has really exposed this too eh!

Some of the chest pounding by Leafs fans could easily become bulletin board material if Marner shrinks again next round against a more experienced team...or even in the future when Marner shrinks while making 13.X million.

And it’s not like Marner isn’t making 2.6 more this year than BT.

I also think the narrative generated from game 1 that the Sens are undisciplined skewed the series and made it more difficult to do his thing.

The playoff experience difference is the elephant in the room.

IMO this is Marner but the word internally is that Brady is pretty badly hurt

Of course he is. He's been in and out of the line-up since and including Four Nations.

He couldn't even play all three periods of the last regular season game when he finally returned from his last layoff. They had to pull him after two.

That won't matter though, obviously, around here.

Matthews doesn't look like himself right now either and you'd be stupid to evaluate him objectively as a player based on his current performance.

I wouldn't call it chest-pumping.

He had no business losing to Tkachuk to begin with.

Brady is a damn good player with a promising future, but picking him over Marner is like taking Wilson (if he had limited playoff experience) over Jack Hughes or taking Matthew Knies over Elias Pettersson.

You’re going too far with this. It’s nothing like Wilson and Hughes.

Tkachuk sucks in the playoffs

Its like comparing Nazem Kadri to Sidney Crosby

Marner clears by a lot. Been the best player in the playoffs
Clearly injured and still producing. Absolute clown take. Marner best player in the playoffs also an absolute joke of a comment. Do you watch other teams play?

Wilson has never had 38 goals what are you talking about. I would take Wilson over the always injured Hughes though.

Id also take Knies over Pettersson. So maybe you just have no idea physicality matters in hockey especially playoffs. For Tkachuks first playoffs as an injured player its been way better than Marners.

Personally I don't think either guy is a driver, but more of a secondary guy.

Ironically the Leafs and Sens might both benefit from a swap of them, Marner is redundant in Toronto where they have tons of soft skill guys like Matthews/Tavares/Nylander and Brady could add another /tough physical element to Toronto, whereas Mitch would add more skill to the Sens.

Just cuz Mitch is doing better head to head this playoffs doesn't mean much, the Leafs top to bottom are the better team, Mitch has also had some abysmal showings himself. Only going ppg 2/8 playoffs, going goalless in 12 straight playoff games and ultimately he's gonna be 4-5 million more expensive.

Would I rather have Marner or Tkachuk and Tanev/Mccabe? Easy for me, but if your team is in a talent/goal/skill glut I get taking Marner
