Which makes this poll so bizzare. We are comparing the a player who has passed his peak to a player we don't know where his peak is. Lucic had quite the development curve, he has had a successful career and I enjoyed watching his 1000th game ceremony but at 18 Lucic wasn't what he became and I don't think many could foresee him reaching the levels he had reached.

Man some insane overrating of lucic going on here
He wasn't as good as current Tom Wilson is in his prime from a skills or physical perspective. Probably a better fighter but he wasn't a top 10 fighter in the league or anything as back then there were actual fighting goons who a guy like Lucic would never square off with due to being to good.
There were several better powerforwards than Lucic from 2010-2016 including Dustin Brown (though he had a few down years), Corey Perry, Wayne Simmonds, Rick Nash, Iginla, Jamie Benn
Lucic was a really good player but both Tkachuks should be much much better than he was.
The Tkachuk Brothers absolute ceilings should be around Jamie Benn except they don't finish as high in scoring race.

Lucic had 6 seasons with more points than Wilson's career high. 4 season with more goals than Wilson's best.
Wilson is not in Lucic's league in hitting or fighting. Even when there were more enforcers, Lucic was still a top 3 fighter in the league.
Nash, Brown, Simmonds and Perry aren't power forwards. The list of players worse than Iginla is long, no shame there

Brown and Simmonds are powerforwards? What are they then? Both drop the gloves, both are physical and both play crash and grind style along with being a net front presence on the PP
I'll give you Perry and especially Nash. They didn't hit as often as good powerforwards did.
Benn, Iginla, Brown, Simmonds were better than Lucic for most/all of his prime
He wasn't ever a top 3 fighter. Dude wasn't even a solidified top 3 fighter on the Bruins
Chara, Thornton, Campbell, McQuaid were all on that team. The Bruins were tough as hell and that helped lucic be able to play his role. If he played with softer/smaller players who couldn't back him and the teammates up he'd have to thrown down more often against bigger goons and wouldn't have been able to last and have the impact he was able to.
Your memory is shot.
As a Leaf fan he was absolutely a more impactful player at his peak than Wilson.
Lucic was also undoubtedly one of, if not the toughest guy in the league until Prout suckered him. Not top 10 fighter in the league? Maybe very early on in his career when Orr, McGrattan, etc. were still prime, but mid-career he was easily one of the scariest fighters in the game. Between losing to Orr and then getting jumped by Prout years later, I don't think he lost a fight.
Calling Nash a PWF is like calling JVR one. Perry was a pest/agitator, Brown was a grinder. Prime Lucic would eat Benn in a fight and played more of a true PWF game than Jamie, albeit a worse player.
One of my most hated players all-time (with Chara) for that reason, among others.
Pretty insane take.
Lucic > McQuaid/Thornton/Horton/whoever.
You could only argue Chara and it's because of size/reach, not actually being a better fighter.

Lucic lead a Cup team in scoring and was a top 3 fighter/physical force in the league. Watch game 7 against Toronto in 2013 if you ever need a reminder how good he was.

Looch because he drove guys off their games, was feared and had a huge impact on what Boston eventually wound up doing, which was winning a cup. He could hit, and fight with the best of them, all while producing.

Tkachuk last year was a PPG player, good for 28th best in the league. Lucic's most productive seasons have him around top 40-50 in points.
He has the best season between the two, and if that's his production going forward, the answer is clearly him.

This conversation looks silly a few years later. The thread would have you thinking looch was potting 30 goals every other year.
He did it once.

He did this starting younger than Lucic did.
Lucic was great but this is Tkachuk and it’s not close.

People talk about Lucic being some monster in his prime. His prime lasted about 5 minutes. He had one 30 goal, 60 point campaign and then never hit those goal numbers again. People act like he put up 30 goals for a 5 year stretch. In 16 seasons he hit 25 goals twice. Brady has already hit 30 goals three straight years as a 24 yr old.
