Before his NTC clause kicks in on July 1st. What would it take? Peterka could be of interest to join Stutzle. Quinn is an Ottawa boy? Don't know the Sens needs.... TBH

Brady Tkachuk

for

JJ Peterka
Jack Quinn
1st - 2025
??

It's a NMC contract as of July 1st. I'm sure there's many that will say that doesn't impact his value but it does.

A 1st, a "B+" prospect and a good player with cap to offset is a realistic ask. Maybe another pick in the 2nd or 3rd round.

On edit: The above seems an overpay unless there's conditions on the 1st.

So Brady’s laughingstock of a franchise has finally turned the corner and is threatening a return to respectability…so the next stage of his career is to send him to an even more dysfunctional situation to earn a PhD in clusterf***ery?

I’m sure that move wouldn’t be met with anger, disappointment and disgust AT ALL.

I'd certainly consider it which means it's a substantial offer from a value perspective.

Trading the Captain of the team during an attempt to make the post-season would likely be controversial.

Who cares

Sabres get, by far, the best player in the deal. IMO Sabres would need to switch JJP with Power. Then Ottawa could flip Power for a forward they like. Really, though this just makes no sense for the Sens unless it’s a huge overpay.

As a Sabres fan I say no...He's possibly finally going to make the playoffs and now you send him to Buffalo ? I wouldn't wish that on my enemy...Keep him in Ottawa or send him to a contender but not Buffalo...we won't be seeing the playoffs for a while.

I don't doubt that as the time approaches and they ask him the pointed question, Tkachuk is going to tell the Senators that he's interested in moving on. He won't seriously want to talk about an extension unless it's part of a move to a destination of his choice (thus, he gets that eighth year and the Sens get a better return on the trade).

Yet that's some time away. He has three more years under contract. The Senators aren't going to want to move him yet, not now, not next season, and probably not the season after that. I think this conversation happens once he's eligible to sign an extension. Maybe around July 2027.

If that's all it takes, the Pens offer the NYR 2025 1st, McGroarty and Brian Rust. Done deal. Don't think it's enough

Peterka has better PPG this season and is 2+ years younger than Brady...
Can’t take you seriously when you say that. I’m just going to assume you don’t watch Tkachuk.

Hockey is more than points, and you know that. That’s why I’m making the guess you don’t watch much of him

Yes, Buffalo should send a top pairing defensemen signed for the next 7 years with no NTC the next five plus a top 10 pick and another player in order bring the lesser Tkachuk who's signed for the next three and has an NMC kicking in four months from now.

That's a sensible deal.

I mean, the intangibles alone Tkachuk will bring is probably worth multiple top 10 picks.
