Im not as high on fox or othmann as most. Ive seen alot of them. Fox isnt your top dman on a cup team imo. Far too soft and slow. Hes replaceable through ufa. Id gladly take a guy like ekblad at the same money

Brady is an upgrade over laff, othmann is likely a 3rd liner, and then fox is of course the crown jewel. Fox’s biggest asset is his ability to qb a pp and exit his own end which I believe we’d be able to find elsewhere.

Ottawa would have no interest in paying Fox 9.5M, and Fox would have no interest in playing for Ottawa.

If Tkachuk were ever to demand out, the Senators would probably want something like Lafreniere + Schneider + 1st + lesser picks from the Rangers.

As soon as you trade fox your team will be irrelevant. Take out his 70 pts per year plus 25 minutes a night and shesterkin will be demanding a trade the very next year.

Incredible assumptions in here that Fox is an easily replaceable player for the Rangers, particularly given what the rest of their blue line looks like. Understand his game has dropped off (along with everyone else in the hockey club) and that 9.5 is a big number for anyone struggling, but the Rangers are measurably bad after this trade even with any proposed Fox replacement.
