Stutzle is a good young player, but Fox is a 26 year old perennial Norris contender, and has been generally considered top-3 in the NHL for 4 years in a row. Let’s not make it out like Stutzle is Crosby and Fox is a 34 year old 2nd pair D on the downswing. Especially not over $1M in annual cap hit and 1 extra year on the deal. I’d love Stutzle on the Rangers, but I think 31 teams are taking Fox instead, given the choice.
this underrates stutzle. 1C are tough to find. i don't think either team agreed to trade them straight up.
y'all are shitting on it, but what I'm proposing is actually it lol.
sens need leadership up front, with skill and talent to make it stick. Giroux is not it. (The bottom 6 is close but getting a Bjugstad in for Pinto would do well to go with the Cousins/Amadio contingent.)
Kreider, a noted clutch performer, is *exactly* what they need. Hatty against Carolina to save the season. Special teams Ace - scores goals on Pp, Pk, and evens. Leads by example, locker room beauty. Don't look at the age, look at the production. He has it when it matters.
Lindgren is a 3rd pair/PK specialist who can eat minutes and take some matchup load off of the young ascending blue line studs. The reason he doesn't fit on the Rangers now is that they're asking him to do too much.
Chabot at that price point is ultimately redundant, and inconsistent. Pinto needs a fresh start. The money works, the fit works. Y'all are hung up on value but missing the important stuff.
