Can’t really see the Rangers being interested in this. Aside from becoming even more top-heavy, giving up two wingers, one of whom is finally looking like he will live up to his 1st overall pick level, they aren’t likely to want to tie up another $9M long term in one player on the left wing when they have Panarin and Kreider already there.

Probably more replace Kakko with Zib and Tkachuk with Stutzle. Can’t see the Rangers entertaining rearranging the wingers. They need a C, not more expensive wings.
Zib isn't moving, with an NMC, and certainly isn't moving to return to ottawa.

they don't need a C, they need a LHD. Chabot pinto for kreider lindgren is the trade

The issue here is that Rangers fans are talking up Lafreniere as being as good as Tkachuk without the PP1 time (we have a set PP1, so Brady would be out of luck also). Even if you concede Tkachuk is better, the difference isn’t Kakko, who is turning into a top six winger this season.

So definitely not.

Just as likely as the original. Neither is realistic. I’d argue the Rangers need both a top 6 C and a top 4 LD. Ottawa doesn’t have those they’d be willing to trade.

Uh I would do the proposal in the OP in a heart beat and I wouldn't do Laf for Tkachuk 1 for 1 if I was the Rangers but Stutzle is off limits and the only Rangers player valuable enough to have a conversation for him is Adam Fox.

Crazy how underrated Stutzle is. He is still 22 y/o and has the 22nd highest PPG in the NHL since 2022-23 when he was 20 y/o, and where he was already the offensive engine of the team. He is trailing players like Crosby and Eichel...

Why would the Sens make that deal?

I would do it in a heart beat, doubt the Rangers would consider though

Stutzle was being used as an example, not a real proposal. And Fox is worth more than Stutzle. Doesn’t mean he isn’t valuable, though.

You have one Lindgren, which apparently you want to move.

Lindgren isn’t a great top-2/4 LD. He’s fine as a 6, but the idea would be to upgrade him if he’s in the top 4.

It’s just a bad example, because it completely goes contrary to what the Sens would be trying to do here.

The Rangers are in their window now and it might not be for much longer. The Sens are rebuilding and finding out they’re not quite as close as they hoped to be, and finally dawning on everyone that Brady isn’t the leader they hoped would be in his prime for the window. So to change team culture they’d need to trade him away and make the younger star center their new captain.

Suggesting that the deal could be massaged so that the Sens keep the guy they’re trying to part with and move the years-younger guy they’re trying to promote to leader of their not-imminent compete window … is to completely ignore every single thing about what this proposal would be trying to accomplish.

Lafreniere and a slight add for BT . Seems like a fair deal for both clubs . At some point BT will want out and best to trade before it comes to that I think. Sens get a skilled kind of local guy with lots of upside and Rangers get a truculent player they desperately need . Each would likely then become leaders of their new clubs . I can see it helping both clubs ....if Sens get the right +/add in the deal . Hopefully they can get it ironed out .so it helps both teams .

Awful, like god awful

Kreider turns 34 and only 2 years left after the season. Lindgren don't have any value left

Pinto just turned 24 y/o but missed 1.5 years of development with an injury and a suspension.

When healthy, Chabot is a puck possession monster and play driver who is elite in transition. I do want to see him somewhere else though (for his own sake) but not with this trade

The Ottawa trade is Batherson to Boston for Frederic and a 1st round pick!

Another really bad deal for Ottawa, as much as they'd need to add a Frederic

Batherson is the 2nd best offensive player on the team and makes less than 5 M$

Stutzle was being used as an example, not a real proposal. And Fox is worth more than Stutzle. Doesn’t mean he isn’t valuable, though.

Debatable. Stutzle is younger, cheaper, 1st line 2-way C and has more term left. Age and contracts are very big factors in players value.

Where do I sign?

I mean Tkachuk is a first line power forward but Laf is special and fits more what the Sens need

I want to watch Lafreniere and Stutzle together for 10+ years

Lafreniere - Stutzle - Batherson, what a line that would be.
