I don’t think he should be traded. I also think he’s a great young player. But why are you calling him a 70 point player when he’s never hit 70 points?
67 in 79 with him missing preseason and both his best line mates missing significant time is pretty much close enough.

With a full training camp and a bit of injury luck on the team he would be pushing 80. Oh yeah, he is 22 and getting better each year. Power forwards usually take a little longer...sky is the limit for Brady.

Pretty dumb comment. Byfield doesn't much move the needle in a trade for Brady (to be fair, I cant really imagine a Tkachuk for quantity trade that doesn't entail a massive, massive overpay of two top 6/top 4 young talents), but if you can't see his skillset and potential I get the sense that you're the one who hasn't seen much of him.
He is garbage. Forward version of Darnell Nurse, all the tools and zero toolbox.

Brady has better physical tools then his brother, if he's able to become ppg consistently with those physical tools he becomes one of the most valuable wingers league wide. I'd love him on the Leafs but thats never going to happen.

You may have noticed, I called him a great young player. Also said they shouldn’t trade him. I asked why he’s being called a 70 point player when he hasn’t hit 70 points yet. “Close enough” doesn’t change that. Next year may very well change that.

Would take a ridiculous overpayment to get him atm. Not even worth discussing yet.

I never said you didn't call him a great young player.

So he is a paced for 69.54 point player while getting 67 under bad circumstances. That is pretty much close enough for me. Its way more accurate than a 60 point player. People usually round to the nearest 10 so it is not disingenuous to call him a 70 point player considering everything.

If you want to be a stickler...you be you.

Los Angeles < Tkachuk

Ottawa < Turcotte + Clarke

Stuetzle > Turcotte + Clark
Norris > Turcotte + Clark
Batherson > Turcotte + Clark
Pinto + Greig >= Turcotte + Clark

Ottawa has alot of good young assets, many of which have proved something at the NHL level.

Everything on the ice aside, our franchise would be so directionless and lose all of our identity. It would send our rebuild back to year one.

LA is not going to be giving up there all situations #2 overall in Byfield (plus) and Ottawa currently isn’t in the market for lottery tickets, no matter how big the jackpot is.

I also don’t think it’s particular a good fit for LA. If they want grit they can add it without the cost being a blue chip prospect, if they want offense, they can find much better players than Brady.

Brady’s value to the Sens relative to his value to other teams is going to he difficult for anyone to offer a deal.

That cap hit is brutal.

lol k. His harshest critics around the league said that he would have never live up to his contract because hes so unlikely to produce at a 30g/70pt rate during his prime.....

Then he goes and misses all of training camp and a few games, and in year one of the contract he goes and blows those critics expectations right out of the water. Just like he did as rookie after the draft, he silenced that same group of people that said he was a bad pick in the most definitive way possible.

The smarter haters just ate their humble pie that Brady served to them and moved on to nitpicking someone else. They know there is nothing else to be said.

His intangibles are like cartoonishly overexaggerated. Like you cant deny that hes able make his presence known in a good way even if hes not making plays with the puck. Brady banging in front of the net goes uncredited with a silly amount of goals, and yet hes already far exceeding statistical expectations....

So what is your excuse, and why are you pushing a 10 month old narrative that got thoroughly disproven already?

Have a low opinion of Brady. Don't need to go into it. Too many people will freak out.

Yeah if we're being serious here there's no way Ottawa trades a sure thing for a mystery box no matter how good that mystery box could be. All other chest puffing about players aside it's just a strange move for Ottawa AND has the potential of blowing up in LAs face too, GMs are far too risk averse for this kind of move even if it makes sense, which this one doesn't.

'I have an opinion. I know it's bad. I will not justify my position'
Fake tough & legit cried on camera after a game, just embarrassing. Hopefully for Ottawa's sake he matures quickly & can be the leader they're paying him to be.

Edit: Didn't want to go outside into it. Feel free to freak out now.

Well I wasn’t wrong. It is a bad opinion. His fight card speaks for itself. He won’t go with a Ryan Reaves but why would he? If it’s a valuable player on the opposing team he will. He legitimately went out of his way to fight Shea Weber. Calling Brendan Lemieux a brick head is an all time quote btw.

You maybe butt hurt about the incident but a lot of outside fans seemed to enjoy it. Despite his name being tied to Matthew he seems to be well received so it seems more like a you problem.
