Yeah, I get that, but it still doesn't make it a normal reaction....it's simply not normal....for most humans anyway. Perhaps it's muscle memory for him as that is how he's learned to react time and time again....that might be plausible.
Your post is a lesson in how to portray any action by an individual in any circumstance - even when honest on the face of it - as somehow illustrative of some deep defect of their personality, provided you fervently dislike said individual.

Reach reach overreach.

Lol.

At the end of the day, I don't really care here, not sure why bother arguing about it....but to clarify, I wasn't speaking about Tkachuk personally in terms have having "learned" this over time, it's pretty regular in the NHL. If you go an watch a bunch of minor hockey games, guys get hit all the time in the head with sticks.....very rarely will you see penalties called....the refs simply missed it almost every time. The kids don't even flinch went getting hit (albeit partly due to having full cage protection). So....I think the higher levels, guys understand with some reaction the official simply isn't always going to see the high stick so you see the significant head flips...bringing attention to it and it's just subconscious for most guys now.....anyway, like I said....not worth a battle over as it really doesn't make a difference

Poor analysis, and wrong imo.
