Not sure he wants to hurt his future teams chances at a playoff berth this year. Gives him more ammo to leave Ottawa

There is a reason why he is a Captain and leader of an NHL team and some guys on this board can only post these type of comments. He's a pro and a winner.

Until the last year of his contract…….He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent (UFA) after the 2027-28 season. Did anyone notice what happened to players in similar situations in the past few trade deadlines.
Hope he decides to remain in Ottawa, but there are other franchises, in low or no state income taxes, and there have been a number of players who seek to go to these destinations…. We saw Chara leave to greener pastures, and signing and trading Hossa did not sit well with him, and may have factored into his Decision…it didn’t help him to stay, and the same could be true with Brady…. We’ll see.

or he loves it here as the captain and stays here

can't worry about that right now

His brother probably loved it in Calgary, until he didn’t, or wanted to move on to a franchise in a zero income tax state… Brady has shown that he plays hard and wants to win here, and if he continues and has success, his stock will rise and there may be more teams expressing interest in a couple of years… and just like EK65, price himself out of a small Canadian market…

Karlsson priced himself out of a Eugene Melnyk owned team, it had nothing to do with the small Canadian market.

I don't care what anybody's got to say about our captain. We almost brought that man to tears with the way the building was chanting his name. Stuff like that is a moment when you know that guy will do anything he can to bring a Stanley Cup to this city. It made the hairs on my back and my arm stand up and tingle. It was one of those moments when he knew this was his forever home. That guy was lit up like a Christmas tree in December when that building was chanting his name like that.

People can say what they want and get angry at him, but he knows it's just a bunch of passionate hockey fans and that this city loves him like we do Alfie and there's nobody in the world that I'd rather be my captain then Brady!
