Brady is officially famous. And he’s representing the Sens in the background

Yeah to me it seems more like he's embracing the American celeb side of things and will most likely engineer his way out in the near future so he can play in his home country. He obviously gave way more of himself during that tournament than he has all year with us.

I mean I think he is just doing what he should which is promoting the sport and himself. I don’t think you can read anything more into it.

It is sort of unfair that Brady getting attention which is ultimately good for him and for us (as long as he’s a Senator) is so triggering to people. If he decides to leave then so be it, but there’s nothing we can really do about that. He’s a Senator for now, might as well enjoy it.

Was Brady's kid born here?

Serious question.
No

I find it sad that people equate everything that Matthew does to Brady, because somehow the Tkachuks are some sort of groupthink entity.

I’m really close with my brother, like many people in here undoubtably are, and we are not alike in MANY ways.

The bad look is on us in here being insanely bitter and being extremely negative towards our Captain who was finally able to represent his country and was a beast doing it.

Some guys in here are already throwing the guy off the team pretending that it’s him that wants out, and it’s embarrassing behaviour.

There are lots of guys around the league who are banged up from that tournament, including our guy unfortunately. He’d playing he could, but by all accounts he should be back soon.

The rest of political crap, the getting riled up because of what Matthew says, the fear that he’s going to dump you, etc… is pathetic.

We ALL want playoffs, and we are finally so close to making it, but we are better than this kind of behaviour, truly.

I wouldn't worry about it too much to be honest.

First, it's pretty contained to online discussions.

Second, I think people are largely just venting right now. Canada is very much in uncharted waters, something which we're being reminded of daily. It sure has me on edge. Knowing that most NHLers skew to the right just amplifies this.

And on top of all that, we just got through a tournament that turned all that worry and concern up to 11.

I expect this to largely pass when he's back on the ice and we're back to winning games

When was the last time a team traded a player before his NMC kicked in because he might walk as a UFA or ask for a trade?

Genuinely asking. I feel like it’s not a thing that happens often. If a team is trying to get out of a contract before a NMC kicks in, it’s usually because on some level they are unhappy about the player and what they bring.

The questions you ask are fair, but retooling will bring new questions. You sort of have to live with not having the answers sometimes.

It doesn't happen often, but Ottawa is a bit of an unusual case, and we're in very strange times right now.

I don't want it to happen, but I think we do have to acknowledge there is a chance of it happening.

Was interesting hear Matthew talk about how the final game was even bigger than winning the Stanley Cup. Because so many of them never got to represent their country before. For the players this will all in. They had banded together and were going all out as if it was game 7 for the Cup. Playing through injuries if required. This was huge for the players, bigger than a regular season game. And when we were watching that game we were expecting that from them. So this idea that Brady chose a meaningless tourney game over a regular season game, well, i think that's backwards from a player perspective.

No trade of Brady is going to make us better over the next 2 years than without him. So its not even on my radar. Cant imagine anyone serious on the team is even thinking about it

Maybe, but I don’t think it’s a real thing honestly. I think if Brady is traded it will be because he asked to be traded. Andlauer and Staios can’t worry about three years from now in the midst of an 8 year playoff drought. And they certainly can’t afford the backlash of trading the team’s most popular player.
