It sucks he got hurt, but I think the anger towards Brady is misplaced. What makes him a special player is that he doesn't turn it on and off. Preseason, regular season, whatever it is he's going to bring it.

Blame the NHL for holding the event. Don't blame the player for being who he is, because at the end of the day I wouldn't want him to change.

he does though. he's had like maybe 3-4 games where he was that effective for us this season.

granted he was playing with superstars and it's a lot easier to crash and bang and shoot off them than carry an NHL line.

the anger is that he was hurt, team usa had replacements ready to go. we don't have replacements, but he still played.

.......but it was cool to play with said injury for team USA, putting the rest of his actual NHL season in question?

Like, how are people excusing this shit?

Hope Norris and Pinto are back. It would make up for Brady being out. Going to need all the help we can get to beat The Peg. I think they have won 10 in a row :help::help:

His brother is on Jimmy Fallon or whatever, it runs in the Tkachuk DNA. They do it for the money and fame
They are this generation's version of 'Side Show Bob'. After everything happening in the US, the 4 Nations Cup and the Tkachuk's MAGA leanings, I'm finding that I wouldn't be too upset if the team moved on from Brady. I'd rather have a captain here in Ottawa that I could respect.

They have won 10 in a row, last game Sens lost 4-2, it was tied after 2 periods. Soogard was in the pipes.

Did Brady tell you who he voted for?

Come on. This isn't a serious take. You're worried about who he and his brother might vote for in another country? I don't even recall him expressing political opinions - he seems focused on hockey.

Brady has been a warrior for this team since his teen years, when things were as bleak as ever in Ottawa. His performance for his country last week was exemplary. He made himself into a household name in the USA. Everything you could ask for from a player and more.

He finally has a balanced (but still thin) roster around him here in Ottawa, and could really make some noise as captain of this ship in the spring. I mean, if you ask me I believe Ottawa moves him this summer. But strictly for the purposes of roster building and asset management. By no means is his character or play in question, and I'm not sure how any serious person can withhold respect from Brady's name. Wild stuff.

I don’t think anyone is saying he isn’t tough, doesn’t play through injury, or misses too many games. I think what people are upset about is that it appears (based on missing practice) that he was injured before the 4Nations finals, chose to play through it, and is now missing games for Ottawa as a result.

You do you. The Tkachuks are an incredibly tight knit family. I was disappointed with the Trump ass-kissing MT did in a climate where the US administration is actively threatening our sovereignty. Trump is threatening to destroy our economy and use economic harms to cause the downfall of our country's very existence. That. Is. Insane.
To then have the Tkachuk brothers hatch a plan that because the Canadian fans booed the US anthem (hint: they were booing Trump) that they'll attack Canadian players off the face-off in some bizarre show of patriotism? That was bush league.
And it was frankly embarrassing that they bragged about having a group text chat to plan it all. Like they were in 7th grade and planning on picking on some kid at recess. It was just cringe and lame. Really lame.

But hey, if you like Tkachuk, more power to you. I feel differently after the 4Nations cup. I love the Sens and am a season ticket holder. It would not bother me at all if Brady moved on. It's only hockey. It's just entertainment and a night out now and then with my wife. If possible, I'd rather not have some clown that hates on Canada be the captain. No need for you to get so upset about it. I mean, why do you even care?

The cringiest thing about MT kissing Trumps ass is how he could've mentioned an important aspect of the USA team, like how the guys were going to pull together and win it in honour of Gaudreau or something like that. But the Tkachuk family know the value of making noise in the media and how it helps their brand.

The upset party is you, who admittedly soured on the captain last week.

It sucks he's hurt. Really that is all. The 4 Nations was a fun tournament but the risk of injury was real . I think everybody knew that going in.

The way I look at it is .. he was banged up but felt he could play in a highly emotional game and was good enough to be effective and yes again there was risk. I don't know how many of us in the same situation would have said no to playing, I think basically zero nhl players would have said no. It sucks for Sens fans and where the team is depth wise and with what is at stake but I'm choosing not to blame him given he was asked to play, said yes. Once that happened he was going to play if he could. And I am not a fan boy saying he can do no wrong. Would it help if we blamed him for something?

I’m pretty much right there with you now BUT I’d have to hear straight from Brady on some of these questions.
I do care what kind of people I’m paying money to watch and cheer for.
I don’t cheer for just anyones success.
Again I can’t say one way or the other about Brady but with what’s happened on the planet (hockey ice included) the last few months I’d have some new questions.

Everyone knew there was the risk of injury from playing in the tournament, but I think most would agree Brady should have done what was in the best interest of the team he captains and that pays his salary and sat out of the final if he was banged up, not risk further injury when we are in a very tight playoff race where every point matters.

He prioritized his country over his team, which I can respect, but I'm certainly not happy with that decision as a Sens fan.

This is his logic:

Honestly if he plays like he did in the tournament for 24 games I would be shocked if we miss the playoffs so no one will end up caring. If he sucks when he comes back then I presume he will be taking a lot of heat for the rest of the season.

There's no way in hell he'll play like that for 24 games, like, he barely played like that for any of the previous 50 games and he wasn't injured.

And if he's at 50% a few extra days off wont change much. This is some pretty bad logic, and just shows how bad of a decision it was to play that last game of the 4N when he was already injured.
