I don't think anything could piss me off more than Brady sucking it up to play tomorrow and then being out for a few games once he's back with Ottawa.

Meh, most people were worried that the tournament would be a farce because the players wouldn't care that much.

Then they did and it ended up being entertaining.

You're literally the only one still poopooing this tournament. Everyone else is having a great time watching it.

I think it would be out of character for Brady Tkachuk to abandon the team for the final.

You can't have them care enough to make it interesting but not care enough to not get injured or not play hurt.

As much as I've enjoyed the tournament, if Brady sacrifices his body to play in the final only to miss some games with the Senators, it'll cancel whatever enjoyment I had with the 4N. It's simply not worth it.

Let him hone his skills and play on the edge when both teams are playing for their lives, even if he gets injured it can only benefit the team for when we eventually do get to the playoffs.

Great…

I didn’t listen so I can’t tell if these two thoughts are linked, but I don’t think he’s actually healthy

Brady is the main character of the NHL - he won’t miss any time and if he does, he’ll come back even better then before.

Brady playing tonight and then missing Saturdays game (or any game after that) due to the injury he suffered last game should be met with absolute scorn by Sens fans.

Hopefully that’s not the case.

if he misses a game, hopefully its just one and he is back by the winnipeg game. Good thing our schedule is light for the rest of february

It's one thing if he hurts himself in a hockey play (body check, driving towards the net. etc.,). If its because he hurts himself while fighting or having a tantrum on the ice, that'll be beyond disappointing.

Hopefully he's a non-factor on the ice today, and then comes back with a fire inside wanting to shed the feeling of defeat against the Peg

I dunno, every game is crucial with only 26 of them left, and we'll likely be without Norris and Pinto on Saturday as well. So if we also lose Brady, winning against Montreal will be quite the feat without 3 of our top-6 forwards.

He also replied to someone saying they know it’s just podcast banter with “it’s not just podcast banter”, so basically insinuating he has sources.

He should be sitting out tonight if he thinks he needs to miss any Sens games to rest and/or recover. Not a fan of that. Team pays his salary and should be the priority if there's any question about availability.

Maybe in 3.5 years as a UFA. No chance Ottawa trades Brady to Florida once that NMC kicks in.

“Same situation as Matthew”. Not really. Matthew was going into his last year before UFA, and the Flames were able to get a bidding war going which is why the return was so high.

If the choice is between spending the rest of his career in Ottawa or in Florida with his brother, pretty easy decision there.

If he was traded to somewhere like St. Louis, New Jersey or New York where he already has family, I think the likelihood that he'd jump ship to play with his brother would be far lower.

Staios better be doing his due dilligence and exploring his options this summer. As much as it would suck to lose Brady, if we could get a massive return like Calgary got for Matthew, I'd pull the trigger on that given the uncertainty regarding his long-term future in Ottawa.

To those saying trade him before his NMC kicks in; if he's following his brother to Florida, unless the deal is rather one sided in their favour why would other GMs put themselves in the inevitable situation you're all trying to avoid?

Because that worked out great for Calgary...

Because for a team on the cusp, 3 playoff runs with Brady Tkachuk would still hold a lot of value. Think of teams that are close (or want to make some runs and a splash) but are located in less "desirable" locations: Minnesota, Winnipeg, Utah.

I don’t think the Sens can afford to trade Brady if he’s willing to play out his contract even if he won’t re-sign. We have been bad for too long and they need some wins, even if they are short-lived. But I don’t get the idea of him forcing a trade to Florida.

IMO the Sens have two choices if he won’t re-sign no matter what when his contract is up:

1. Trade him this year before the NMC kicks in
2. Keep him and let him walk as a UFA*

*assuming the team is good. Good teams don’t really trade key players in the last year of their deal, unless like Rantanen they don’t have a ton of trade protection. With a NMC if the Sens are good they would likely just have to cut their losses for one last attempt to win. And if he could force his way out before then, we’re probably just better off moving him now.
