Lol the emotional rollercoaster I went through reading that he might be injured but then it's only precautionary was nuts.

I just want USA to get demolished but for Tkaptain to come back to Ottawa at 100 % health.

We need Brady on the ice scoring goals if we want to make the playoffs

Is hitting from behind a penalty in the NHL? Or is it just boarding if you do it to someone against the boards?

In minor hockey, we would get a penalty for hitting from behind if we leveled a guy from behind in open ice. I never see it called at the NHL level so it must not exist? You're allowed to just run over people from behind in open ice?

Weird, looks completely harmless. There was even a goalie pad flat between himself and the post.

They said on TVA that he went right into the goalie skate that was right there stuck on the post.

I think it's time for people to accept that Travis Hamonic is our best player, our one and only hope.

People talk about blowing it up if we were to trade Tkachuk and Norris.... lol wait that Hamonic decides to retire, we'd have to head into another full rebuild.

No problem to body check a guy from behind, unless dangerous into the boards.

The weirder thing is that he is hurt, but there was zero contact to his nuts.

I am thinking maybe the left leg? Maybe he tore something on the fall, not on the contact with the net.
It looked like ribs or side were hurt when he hit the goaltender's pads which the goaltender positioned in front of the goal post to protect Tkacuk.

Seriously, IF Ottawa could find a way to improve by trading Tkachuk and Norris plus sign a top free agent (but who?), they should do it. Team's outlook has to be a priority over emotional attachment. We have seen so many good/great players leave already, I think we're used to it.

Which mentality? Am I Brady Tkachuk? lol this wasn't about "my mentality" but more of a possible REALISTIC scenario. I think only ostrich-like people can't see it.
Sure anything is possible but the Senators should do whatever they can to sign a guy who has now proven he can elevate his performance in big games. If you trade him is there anyone else that gives the impression they would step it up in the playoffs? Maybe Stutzle but guys like Chabot Batherson and Norris inspire no confidence that they could do it.

I am not attached emotionally to any player and think that any player can or could be traded IF the right deal was offered by another team. Gretzky, the greatest player ever in the game, was traded, so I think trading Tkachuk is possible.

Its certainly possible. This fanbase has been clamouring for a Gary Roberts type of player, and now that we have one, they want to trade him. Makes total sense.

Seems like Brady will play in the final game with Team U.S.A. I guess that’s good news as it indicates that whatever it was isn’t serious.

Yes but the point, which was weirdly not even understood by the other 2 "posters", was simply that IF the player WANTS to leave, there's not much you can do about it. I don't think the Flames really had a choice in Matthew's case. And if that was to happen with Brady, getting Huberdeau + Weegar level players in return wouldn't be horrific assuming the following contracts would be market value (Weegar contract is really good and Huberdeau contract is really bad)

I think the only and best way to convince Tkachuk to stay would be to become a serious contender, which is why Staios probably has more pressure to win than we think. The margin for error is very thin due to years of incompetence by the previous regime.

Frankly, I'm almost surpirsed by Tkachuk and Chabot patience with the rebuild but if the team doesn't start reaching new levels, you'd have to understand if they'd want to move on. I think their patience is due to the team sale that was incoming and the changes in coaching/management. Now it's time to win.

Pretty much this.

After seeing Hossa, Alfie, Spezza, EK and Stone not be a part of the organization, it's become easier for me to not get too attached to any one player.

It doesn't mean I think any good player wear a Sens uniform will inevitably leave. It just means I recognize that if Alfie can leave, anyone can (including Stu, Sandy, Yakemchuk, or any other bright spot in the organization).

I want Tkachuk to win a cup with Ottawa, I want to see him in the playoffs (especially against the Leafs, would love to see him body check AM34 into oblivion), but am prepped for him or any of our core to be moved as long as it means more wins.

Yikes. Brady, Pinto & Norris all potentially missing from the lineup feels like a mountain too tall to overcome. Who knows about Ullmark now too.
Can't speak for the other players, but after Brady was helping his brother out of bed because of a broken sternum to play for the playoffs in 2023.. I think he plays through anything short of missing a limb for the playoff push.

If he doesn't play the final game for the USA, that's a very bad sign. Unless, it's not his choice and the coaching staff decides that whoever is next up is an upgrade over a hurt Brady.

I agree with what you're saying, but toughing it out for 26 games AND then having to play playoff hockey for at least 4 games is a completely different dynamic than taking it one game at a time when you're already in the playoffs.

I am not trying to be negative, but if he is hurt enough that not playing in the biggest game of his life tomorrow is an option, then I am not optimistic about him playing for us right away.

It is a good sign, but given what players play through for the biggest games, I don't think it is a sign of anything other than he can push through for one more game.

He's spent the last 6 years mostly playing meaningless games. He has never played playoff games at a pro level, and is now in a key role for what will be the most watched hockey game in his country in years. We've heard of players playing through crazy stuff to dress for the cup final, this is similar. It's one more game. So while playing is a much better sign than not playing, I don't think it's an indication that he won't need time off after this game.
