You’re a ray of sunshine aren’t you! Can’t wait to see who’s next in your crosshairs this afternoon…Brady seems to be earning a massive next contract in Florida.
its depressing and true....You’re a ray of sunshine aren’t you! Can’t wait to see who’s next in your crosshairs this afternoon…
Interesting…. Where are you getting your information from? Andlauer hasn’t made any public statements about falling behind the cap, so I figure you must have some insider info.its depressing and true....
time to load up and go for it. the Sens have a 2 year window before the high cap makes them unable to ever really compete.
Brady seems to be earning a massive next contract in Florida.
If Brady doesn't bring it for the home stretch, you have to trade him, because he clearly isn't trying. I don't think the Tkachuk's like Canada.
For real. Do people expect him to average 7 hits a game in an 82 game season or something? This is Brady when he elevates to another gear, we have seen this on the Sens. But he’s obviously not gonna play like this all the time.Very wild take.
Why even participate if all you what to do is troll.Brady seems to be earning a massive next contract in Florida.
Great post. Brady is the kind of player that can change a game without scoring pts as he & his brother did last night by taking the momentum out of team Canada right off the bat. They took the crowd down a notch & showed everybody watching they were not intimidated by the crowd booing their anthem, but instead it riled them up to do something about it. That's how you fight back, that's how you make the players around you play bigger, that's how you win cups in the NHL when the going in the playoffs gets rough & the real players stand up & take control. The Tkachuks did that last night.Brady is the main character when hockey player are on the ice and we’ll see that tonight, he will stand out for the Americans and be the story of the game and that includes the entire Team Canada roster with all timers on it and Austin Matthews who’s forehead will be turned into a high rise building in Toronto.
I think we’ll see tonight how good Brady actually is. He might be the best player on the USA team in terms of that old school follow the leader type manliness we see rarely and only from the true HOF studs - Messier, Crosby, Stevens.
I was surprised how much Brady stood out on team USA as far as your eyes go to him - wherever he is on the ice you watch him naturally and wherever he is things are happening.
Best rebound player in the game. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hockey player be able to shoot back rebounds like Brady does - best ever to do it IM0
I agree 100%. He's so jacked up to play with his brother, there is zero chance he re-signs with the Sens. He has a NMC for the last years of his contract and there is only one team he would waive it for.Brady seems to be earning a massive next contract in Florida.

I don't think they took the crowd out of it, but it was the right move by the Tkachuk bros. The fans were dead set on booing team USA out of the building tonight, and the Tkachuk bros decided to set the tone early that USA wasn't backing down and were going to battle hard.how did the Tkachucks take the crowd or team canada out of it.
There probably never been a crowd more into it after those fights. And it was team canada that was carrying a momentum high after the fights.
Terrible post. This mentality will leave your team like Buffalo, a constant state of rebuilding. At least there's some people who are capable of seeing that realistic possibility.
What could convince him to stay in Ottawa? Winning a Cup? Obviously but what else would he want/need?
This team doesn't have a nearly enough good forward group to win a championship. Giroux and Perron are aging, they will need to be replaced and upgraded big time from what they are today, that's already a big challenge. I really like Norris but chances are really low that he'll ever be able to be worth near his 8.0 AAV price tag. He might have to be sacrificed to create some cap space down the road. Batherson is good but he's not a premium threat, ideally he needs to be your 4th or even 5th best forward. He only has 2 year left on his bargain contract, will cost more if we extend him. Stutzle needs an elite linemate and doesn't have anyone fast/skilled enough (outside of Batherson) to play with
Seriously, IF Ottawa could find a way to improve by trading Tkachuk and Norris plus sign a top free agent (but who?), they should do it. Team's outlook has to be a priority over emotional attachment. We have seen so many good/great players leave already, I think we're used to it.
Poor Staios, he was left with a very hard situation. Chychrun and Korpisalo, the forfeited 1st round pick, one of the worst prospect pools (which is unseen for a rebuilding team), etc. Freaking Dorion seriously.
yeah, sorry, we have Brady for a lot of years yet.Brady seems to be earning a massive next contract in Florida.

Ottawa has good players locked up long term. Keep those good players. You're sounding the alarm over supporting pieces like Perron and Giroux. It's much easier to find those supporting pieces than to tear down what cornerstone pieces you already have.
Ottawa found guys like Stone and Hoffman in the 5th or 6th round. They drafted Alfredsson in the 6th round. Go find your supporting pieces.

Having lived in the U.S. (but born & raised in Canada) for sneaking up on 3 decades now, I’d be surprised if Brady doesn’t sign with a U.S. team when he hits free agency. Many Americans think of Canada as a socialist country which is not a positive thing in their minds. I hope I’m wrong, but it's just reality and the way many think.Love me some Brady his stock is climbing massively right now. Only Brady knows where he wants to go after this contract it’s the sens duty to do whatever we can do to win while we have him.
Not going to lie was a little cringed hearing him mic’d up in the penalty box looking for big bros approval of his fight
As a habs fan though, he’d be happy to see the Sens collapse from within.Terrible post. This mentality will leave your team like Buffalo, a constant state of rebuilding.

I think there is a 70% chance he leaves at the end of his contract. 3 More season + this one. Sens need to be going all in to win while we have him. No talk of trading him in his last year to get some mid players and first rounders. This is the window.Having lived in the U.S. (but born & raised in Canada) for sneaking up on 3 decades now, I’d be surprised if Brady doesn’t sign with a U.S. team when he hits free agency. You can basically make an argument like this about most teams in the league, whether it’s their defense or goaltending or offense or not being built for playoffs etc. Outside of the truly elite teams, they all come with significant question marks. The teams that come out of that are the ones who do manage to address their issues.Which mentality? Am I Brady Tkachuk? lol this wasn't about "my mentality" but more of a possible REALISTIC scenario. I think only ostrich-like people can't see it.
Others teams don't? It's not just about building a "team that we like" and make our hearts warm, it's about building a team that will BEAT other teams on the finish line.
Considering that Giroux is 37 years old, considering Norris injury history and potential outlook, do you really think that the Senators have a chance to win a Stanley Cup with Tim Stutzle, Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson as their 3 main forwards? Do you think that any of Josh Norris, Shane Pinto, Ridly Greig or Zack freaking Ostapchuk could become a main offensive threat?
If you'd answer "definitely yes!" to these 2 questions then I could understand that you find me "alarmist" but personally, I don't think so, NOT EVEN CLOSE.
ok so do you think we have any of those in the system currently? Chances are "probably not" and even if we do, how long do you think it will take before they become impact player(s)?
Alfredsson was drafted in 1992 at 22 y/o, I doubt you could find gems like that anymore with the way scouting has evolved. Mark Stone became impactful 5 years after being drafted. 6-7 years in Hoffman's case and he was just a Top-6 forward, not an impact one.
We already have to find a guy like that to replace Giroux, maybe we'll have to replace Batherson if he prices himself out of Ottawa (particularly since he was underpaid for years), then you have Tkachuk who COULD want to leave if we are not a serious contender FAST.
The forward group definitely NEEDS help that you like it or not. Even when this team could NOT play defense to save their lives, we were below average in GF/GP (23rd from 2021-22 to 2023-24). We're 21st this season
I think he will stayits depressing and true....

The team is learning how to play a team defensive game. Their scoring will go down while they learn that. Once they figure it out and get comfortable with it, the scoring will pick back up. The same thing happened when Jacques Martin took over the first time. Went from a pure defensive team, then once they got comfortable playing that way they turned into one of the top scoring teams in the league.Which mentality?
