Brady is third in the league at drawing other teams to take penalties. He does this by being such a hard player to compete against and he frustrates other teams into taking penalties and giving our team more powerplays.

HNIC showed a perfect example of the physical play this guy brings. Juulsen made a heavy hit on one of our guys and Brady took note and made sure to finish a hard check on Juulsen the next chance he got.

Such an important player for us since we don't have anyone who does that consistently

We also need a couple more guys to take the initiative and do that, as well. Can't leave it all to Brady.

Some of his backchecks are insane right now. The one where he knocked a guy down instead of just stick checking like normal people was chefs kiss lol.

Sens have trouble with physical teams, especially their defense which is more finesse than physical. Their 3rd and 4th lines do hit but nobody is a really heavy "banger". They do need another guy to compliment BT.

Ideally I'd like to have at least 4 forwards who throw decent hits and forecheck regularly. One on each line, and a couple of physical blueliners. Wear down opponents, and it also gives you a bit of a buffer if one or two of your physical guys are out with injury, that you still have a presence on the ice. They don't have to be pure crash and bang guys (obviously not on the top 6 anyways), but enough that opponents are always on the lookout for a hit.

I also remember when Jensen got leveled in the 3rd, Brady actually had the puck in the neutral zone, and the just stood there for an extra second, looking back and took a number down before moving the puck.

Here are the hit stats for Sens, also looks like top 6 has more hits, but they also play more minutes.

Ostapchuk in future will help Brady with the physical hitting but he needs to put on some man strength, muscle & weight. What I also like about Ostapchuk is his vision & passing ability which should only get better. His strength right now is good defensive play, faceoffs & speed. Kleven as he gets more comfortable back there, stronger & heavier should also be a force on defence as Yakemchuk will be as he matures. The same applies to Pinto who needs to put on more weight & muscle.

There's five guys that when they get more mature & heavier with muscle should make a big difference for this team & I would add Batherson & Halliday to that same mix. I'd look to trade for McCaron at the trade deadline & add a guy like Boeser in the off season if he has an interest in moving.

I agree with the first paragraph but not sure we'll ever get sustained additional physicality out of Batherson. Halliday might not ever make it
