Again, there's no point pulling up screenshots or even videos. Every player is capable of making a bad play, every player is capable of making a good play. Remember how annoying people were with Karlsson where they'd wait for him to screw up and then use a single play as proof that he was terrible defensively? There's no point to that. What I care about it how they look game by game. You can't isolate that and say "here's an example" because he could have one good defensive stop and then suck for the rest of the game.

I'm questioning your ability to read the game when you make the claim that you haven't seen Brady's commitment to defensive hockey this year. You either can't recognize it when it's happening, or you're choosing not to.
I've made myself clear when it comes to discussing this further with you: if you're unwilling to provide concrete examples, then later days.

100%. I see where they are now almost entirely at the feet of the previous regime.

They are the reason the team is as currently constructed for the core members, committed cap wise, starving for assets, nobody pushing from below, and a bleak future made worse by owing a first round pick.

Staios' moves haven't turned out as well as I'd hoped, no denying that, but I still think he was in the realm of reason to try to run it back but with a different supporting cast and theoretically a competent goaltender. Now that they've had a kick at the can and things are where they are, I am prepared for bolder moves. Even the 1st they gave up for Ullmark was more realistically the cost to dump Korpisalo.
Andlauer said he was a steward of the team for the people of the region. That's the plan. Gonna take time to unfck things.

In the event that the C is taken from Tkachuk for whatever reason, I sure hope he acts like a professional. Guys like Thornton, Marleau, Wheeler, Modano, Dustin Brown, etc., Sometimes it's just to make sure the team has the composition and it isn't anything against the player personally.
His Dad asked for trade when he got stripped of the C.

Not trying to be.

But what really isn't funny or enjoyable or charming is a team that gets eliminated from playoff contention in November and a captain who is mentally soft.
You would have some credibility if you tried to be somewhat objective in your criticism with the whole team but 90% of your vitriol is directed at BT. I guess Sanderson, Norris , Giroux , Pinto , Zub, Perron and even Stutzle have had stellar seasons up until now because I never see you complaining about them.

Only Stutzle and Jensen have had stellar seasons so far.

Brady is the only player on the roster who cheats for offense so egregiously and quits on the back check.

If the other players played selfish hockey like him i would be on them just as much. Let alone if they did it while being captain.

I'd wager that there is a 0% chance of stripping him of the C. For one, who do you give it to? There's no heir apparent like a Crosby or something.

Second, if stripped he probably looks to be traded (even if not stripped he probably wants a trade). All stripping him does is lower his trade value.

I don't think this team does any better with some other guy as Captain, though I do think they gave it to Tkachuck way too early.

These players aren't good enough, it doesn't matter what letter is on which player's jersey.

To be fair, this is the Brady Tkachuk thread, not the "who is shitting the bed this year" thread.

If he is traded my guess is Staios will see it as starting over and he will try to build the team from the net out. I don't follow the league closely enough to know who specifically should be the return but I'm thinking Nemec+ as an example.

Seeing how it has worked for other superstars, I'd like to believe that Tkachuk (and every other player on roster) has the professionalism to understand why they might be getting benched and respond with improved play when given another opportunity. I don't think Tkachuk will, but he proved me wrong by improving defensive play last year and would love to eat some crow if he responded to be being benched by addressing the flaws of his game. If it pushes Tkachuk closer to the door, so be it. We need professionals who can handle critique from their coaching staff.

We have the depth to still have a top 9 winger step up and take advantage of an opportunity if a hypothetical bench happens, granted none of our LW options are as good as Tkachuk.
OK, sounds good.

I wonder if Green will need to do this just once and everything with Brady is fixed, or whether its not just a one time thing and will need to be done multiple times?

As for forward depth that you mentioned, I’m not sure we have as much as we’d want or that some people think we have. But, that’s another debate I suppose and I’m sure that some are going to blame our current lack of scoring on the bottom lines. I’m not saying that is incorrect, but wondering if that’s all it is. I just wonder if we don’t have the right player with enough high end skill to play with Stutzle. There’s probably lots of different opinions on that subject though.
