Agree to disagree I guess. You try to make it too simple. I'm not excusing the players, but there's no part of me that doesn't believe they were also led here. If they turned it into a "frat house" as you say, where was the organizational leadership to not allow that to happen? I've never seen a sports organization in as poor of a state as the tear-down/rebuild Senators. All those greats listed largely had to do a lot of losing before they learned how to win too. Jordan basically lost as long as Brady has before he won. Alfredsson looked dead in the water against the Leafs for 4 painful losses of getting owned with the rest of the team. Karlsson had a ton of ups and downs, but team wise, mostly downs. Mackinnon's Avs were a mess for years. Crosby even had some painful losses, but is also the most truly generational talent in that list and played with 2 other sure fire hall of famers.

And quite frankly, they're all in this together. Sanderson and Stu have had their fair share of struggles and imo right now Sanderson being looked at to lead the offensive charge from the backend is the biggest singular issue outside of goaltending. I don't look at Brady struggling any less than Sanderson or others struggling simply because he has the C. Even Giroux, the effort is there, but he has had some god awful team killing decisions lately, like the hand pass on the faceoff brain cramp.

I mean look at it this way.

Right now with Travis Greene and Daniel f***ing Alfredsson as his coach Brady is still mailing it in defensively. So he is basically ignoring what they have to say.

Who is to say DJ didn't try to instill some accountability and Brady didn't just ignore him and do whatever he wanted as well?

I see it from many of them. I don't think this is one singular issue with Brady, the group as a whole is not able to win and pull through when they need to. All of them. Like I said, I see Sanderson not taking the step forward we hoped as probably the biggest issue outside of goaltending. He is a tremendous defensive player, but he can't carry the ball offensively 5on5, at least not right now.

Sanderson is most likely hurt.

He went from skating end to end at will 3 weeks ago to never doing it. He is playing bad but really the last player we have to worry about, you can just see it in his mentality and approach to the game. It's his first bad run of games in probably years.

I don't see it from Stutzle, he seems like he embraced the most what Martin, Alfredsson, and Greene would have to say.

And thinking about it Stutzle played like this before joining the Senators but started acting a little like Brady after joining. Pouty, emotional, selective defensive effort.

It's "Brady's Team" like a lot of people here like to say and they are damn right. If you have a captain who likes to do whatever he wants, that has an impact on the rest of the roster. If you have a captain and eventually friend who perpetuates frat house culture it's hard not to get influenced by it.

Sanderson is clearly struggling, but he also still hasn't proven he can be the offensive driver 5 on 5. His early offense this year was primarily PP.

I've like Stutzle this year mostly, but there have been tons of moments he's disappointed me no different than Brady.

Like I said, agree to disagree. You're far to focused on Brady imo, but I also don't care to convince you or anyone else, just here to add my 2 cents.

And having said that, I may still be open to him being on the move at some point for the potential of a good return and the need for bold action, but I see it as a whole group problem right now and I think the position Dorion put the franchise in is still the biggest that might not give them the option to ever get it back on the rails.

I'm focused on Brady because he is the worst offender and he is the captain. If he was some 6mill player with no letter I wouldn't be focused so much. He would be another Batherson.

But it is the same logic as putting blame on Melnyk and Dorion. Things get rotten from the top down.

Brady is the captain and does not act or play like a winning captain.

That's fair to have that opinion. It's not mine, or at least not to that extent, but that's all good.

what was the excuse last season? no newborn last season.
To be fair, he did improve defensively last season under JM.

All that has seemed to have gone away the past 10 games. I think he's capable of playing at the level, where he's not a liability defensively, but the pressure of the C is too much.

I cannot believe that I would see the day that the fanbase would turn on Brady.

I keep my finger on the pulse of the casual fan by lurking Reddit. All the threads have a similar tone to "Where was Brady the day that JFK got shot?".

He has not played well and he is the captain of this team. We're on a losing streak here and turning it around immediately could save the season and put us back in the hunt for the playoffs.

Nobody is asking Brady Tkachuk to time travel and save JFK. They're asking for our power forward captain to set a tone and propel us to a win and get us out of this slump. And he's not being asked to do it alone. Batherson-Stutzle seem to score every night. They're trying. They're working hard. They care. Our bottom 6 isn't doing incredible but every other night they're showing up along with Batherson-Stutzle.

We just need someone else in that top 6 to do the same. And one of them happens to be our power forward captain.

When did it become too much to ask for our power forward captain to dominate a game, one single game, to get us out of a funk?

It’s that he’s sending the message “we have changed and there’s been a full team Culture change” and then you see him live quitting on a back check in an OT game and you just know things haven’t changed.

The message he’s sending the fans isn’t the same as what his skates are doing on the ice - so fans are pissed and they should be.

You should never ever see your Captain quit on a back check when the standard is Daniel Aflredsson and he’s on the bench.

Green talks about the team being haunted by the last 7 years - for the fans it’s haunted by Alfie because the current Captain ain’t nothing like Alfie, you’d never in a million years see Alfie quit on a backcheck and every Sens fans in history would bet their family house on that, but they wouldn’t bet that on Brady, ever, and that’s where the anger comes from. He can’t be trusted YET to a sophisticated fanbase that knows exactly what it is supposed to look like

I am not completely excusing anything.

If you don't think having a new born isn't a massive thing to deal with, then I don't know what to tell you. Pro athletes aren't robots. Even with a nanny, family help, etc...it is an extremely emotion and physical draining time.

You don't have to agree and I don't want to make an assumption, but I assume you haven't had a kid?

Going to back to my earlier comment in TC. I simply said that nobody should be surprised if Brady starts off slow. He hasn't really, but his play needs to be better.

When on a road trip he sleeps in a hotel same as everyone else. Your newborn doesn’t need a FaceTime call like your wife and older kids do.

Having a new born is mayhem for a few months but when your a pro athlete I’m sure he can sleep in a spare room in peace before game day. Where us normies rotate changing diapers or bottle feeding middle of night.

My daughters changed my life but it’s an awful excuse not to move your feet when you get paid these wages. I wouldn’t expect an actor to get any wiggle room if their movie is no good because they had a baby.

Said it before and have gone full circle after seeing some good games but back to usual effort.

Brady is not the leader his brother is. Matt can drive a line and win. Brady can’t. The defensive effort is unacceptable for any player, especially a captain.

I also can't imagine Alfredsson watching Brady do that from behind the bench and being happy his teams captain couldn't be bothered to backcheck in such an important game and moment.

If they don't make the playoffs this season and Brady doesn't change his ways, and Staios asks, really doubt that Alfredsson would vouch for Brady as a captain or as a player they need to keep.

I think the big internal battle right now is Brady sees himself as a 40/50 goal man in the NHL and he’s gotten there by cheating and cherry picking

I’m sure internally he knows if he does plays Greens system he’ll probably score 25-30 and I don’t think he wants to play hockey like that.

He wants to win, and he wants to score, and he wants to cheat for goals and it’s not going to work - Brady has to compromise

Yes. I know I do lol. They have had their most recent couple heated playoff series' against them and I think they're above the Leafs on the Sens Hate-O-Meter at this point.
Really??? Maybe im just too old..
I was playing with Sens in 94 SEGA as a handicap!! I love the SENS!! Even with Alfie, who wouldn't? Honestly? Rivalry 🤣.. that doesn't exist anymore in todays sports.. it's all entertainment to me..
I go to win Stanley Cup. Thats it.
Habs
Any other cdn team
Remaining O6
The rest.

Ha, well, I shouldn't sound so serious, it's all in good fun, but old rivals die hard. Sports fandom is something different for everyone and I can't speak for them with a blanket statement, but it does seem to me like those couple playoff series has made it so that the Habs are the most recent and get a lot of hate. Toronto hate lives on from 20+ years ago. I wouldn't cheer for the Habs or Leafs over any other team in the league, but all 5 other cdn teams I would.

with the way things are going, it could be a massive mistake letting this guy get to July 1st with his NMC still ln this team. I have no doubt in my mind he’s not going to want to stick it out here if we miss the playoffs.

Need to trade this guy ASAP.

He needs insulation in terms in both offensive talent/production and leadership. He can win when he's one of a bunch of guys. He can't win when he's one of the guys that the team relies on.

I'm done with him. I don't care if it helps fans of his feel better to think of it as the team failing to insulate Brady Tkachuk. Get rid of him. Start a new chapter.

5 f***ing games in a row and it ends with a tantrum and self-pity party. Unbelievable.
